Hi guys.

As you can tell from the thread name, a friend of mine is having trouble with his 147 FL JTD. It drives perfectly with no issues in town. But on the highway and on long journeys the car just dies. It happens when he keeps the car at 120/130km/h for a long time.

The car went into Chatz to be fixed. He received it back and the told him it was "fixed". On the way back home to Potch it stopped on the highway again. The car is now back at Chatz.

Does anyone have an idea of what is wrong? Chatz seems to be struggling. I was hoping we could pass some info along to my friend so he can help them sort it out...

Heard of similar issues with a 1.9 tdi polo...blamed on a soot filter not getting cleaned at constant higher speed and resolved by dropping a gear or two for a period of time. Ongoing saga for a friend of mine, with car back at the dealer for the 4th time to resolve permanently. Will check if there's been further developments with diagnostics.
