Hi all.
Would it be possible for someone with access to eper to have a look and see what other cars the 147 GTA shares its gearbox with? My 3rd and 4th synchros have gone bad and I am looking to get a reconditioned box from somewhere but obviously its a bit harder to find GTA ones on the market.
Maybe the 166???
cheers guys.

I'll have a look for you. In the meantime you might like to have a look at the Fiat Forum's ePER - but I think it has a limit of about 5 users and it might boot you off!

EDIT: my ePER has broken down - will need to reboot he computer to fix this (don't ask, the computer needs booting right off this planet!). Will get back later today unless somebody else takes this on.

Hi Mudhut
Thanks for that link. I had a good look through and checked the part numbers on various cars like the 156, 159, 166 etc, but none of them seem to use the 147GTA gearbox (except the 156GTA obviously).
Perhaps I am not reading eper correctly but is this what others have also found?

The prices on there for a new box (part: 73501567) are £2250 new!!! ARGHHHHH and £950 for a reconditioned one (part: 71721673). ARGHHHHH.
I actually have a Q2 diff fitted to my car, so I am not sure what comes with a new box as eper mentions diff housing in the same part.
Any clues people?
Would it be cheaper to have my box removed and the synchros replaced by a specialist?
What are peoples experience on this out of warranty period?

A gearbox rebuild may be the best option.

The recon GTA gearboxs are quite often new apparently.
You will be able to transfer the Q2 diff obviously.

For the price difference a recon one would look to be a reasonable option.
