How my missis puts up with this in her spare room I still dont know but she does like a quick blast what we have nick-named Dartford Raceway.

Here is 'her' Alfa 147 GTA Fly slot car on the track with a quick fly by of the table first.

Here is a layout of the table in simple plan form so you get the jist of the layout, the table is 8x4 I think  which is abit of a monster

The section under the elevated section is just spare track where we keep the cars when not in use.

Here are some pics of how the table looks, as you can see its rather erm . . . big :)

Anyone else still got their Scalextric's?

Yep - got quite a few (20+) cars but not that much track at the moment. Changed to Scalextric Sport a few years back cause my old track was kinda dodgy and while I have some connectors for the two I only use the really good bits.

Some of my mates and I wanna do a Scalextric Le Mans. 24hrs of Slot Car racing. Will buy myself an MC12 for that.

I belong to a slot car forum and there is a bloke who is trying to collect the complete field of cars that entered the 2005 LeMans (oh dear) he's not doing too bad but there comes a point when far is too far

Yup, I'm a big Slot Car fan....

I have quite a few Alfas, if memory serves me well:
2 x 156 GTA (Fly)
1 x 156 GTA (Scalextric)
1 x 147 GTA (Fly)
1 x Bertone GTV (Fly)
1 x GTam (Fly)
1 x Giulia GTA (Pro-slot)
1 x 116 series GTV (can't remember manufacturer)
1 x T33 (replica, made from a Spirit Raynard)
1 x F1 (fantasy car, made from a McLaren F1)
2 x Alfa 155 BTCC
4 x Alfa 155 DTM (all the models they had , including the black Antera one)

I also have a couple of Mazeratis, Ferraris, Lancias, US Muscle cars, Nissan Skyline, Mini Coopers, Porsches etc. All in all about 50 cars. (I've been collecting Slot cars , well, model cars in general, since the age of 6..... big boys toys  )

I am currently on a mission to collect 60's and 70's Rally /Race cars, so I have the Alfa GT's a Escort mk1 Mexico, Mini Coopers (3 of them), and looking for Datsun SSS, BMW CSL (I have one , but its old and tatty), and ..... the list goes on

I had no idea others were into slot cars.

I'm currently building a permenant track in my loft, which will eventually become a fully scenic track with lighting and all the rest of it.

Also currently planning the pit lane garage/granstand complex to be 100% scratchbuilt and unique to my circuit.

Will keep ya's posted as the project continues...

Some of the tracks on the forum are unbeliveable!!!

People route their own track grooves out of wood and build mountain roads and all kinds, puts plastic clip together track to shame :)

Well worth a look to see what people can and do . . . do
