Hi guys

Wonder if anyone could help.

Recently i had started to have to press the unlock button on my key fob very hard and pointing it at the reciever on the dash of my 147 to get it to unlock and close. I assumed the battery was getting old.

Yestaday i took the car to have its MOT done. I got out the car, locked it as normal amd gave the garage the keys and left. I then get a call saying they have unlocked it with the keyin the door and the alarm is going off and they cant turn it off, and te key fob is doing nothing.

I go back down there and the remote locking isnt working. I then go a get a replacement battery thinking this is the problem but doesnt solve the problem. But it didnt. I tried using the spare, and even that wit a new battery doesnt work. The car still runs etc fine but just ha to be locked and opened using the key in the door, (very annoying). Althought wen i turn the car off, but leave the key in the ignition lots of noises like switches and sensors going off happen which i dont recall it ever doing before.

I have tried to disconnect the battery for 30 mins but jasnt solved the problem and checking the fuses under the dash and swopping them for spares which i saw on other threads but hasnt worked.

Was wondering if anybody else had had this problem and how they fixed it, cus 1 minute it was working fine, then 20 mins later just doesnt work, and the car has just been parked there.

Cheers

Oh my word, no answers, i have just encountered this issue. I had gone to meet the guy that was picking my car up after the gearbox had gone (another issue), and the car wouldn't unlock even though the light on the key was flashing. This was the first time this had happened, and it is like someone turning the screw as already stressed with the gearbox, which literally went in no time at all, first 4th, then the rest.

Now my car is in a garage, but no idea how to sort the locks issue. Oh, and of course, the car is now immobilized.
