Hi all

2 months ago i put on a new alternator / Battery and now its charging at over 17v (mostly when car is warm ), so a few questions

1. If its the rectifier/voltage regulator can i fix this on the car

2. can anyone think of another reason why this could happen

3. any idea what caused this problem or can be just random fault and i was unlucky ?

4. is there another voltage regulator on the car

Thanks all in advance

All fixed i hope , swapped regulator but seems its broken the new battery aswell i think it got overcharged .

it reads 14v with it disconnected which is not unusual but if i connect the battery and start the car all the lights throb and when i loosen the earth off the throbbing stops .
plus with battery on it blows the headlight bulbs.

not sure if a full battery discharge will fix it but cant test it as battery charger not near me so wife would be stuck with no car :biglaugh:

i will keep you informed

Yep everything is stock, and after a good search it seems a few people have had the problem.

it was a pain sorting the problem out as i had a body ecu problem aswell
