Hi,

My acceleration pedal feels a bit slow responsive. It feels like that engine is revving after 1 second from the moment I pressed the accelerator. Is that normal with 147? Also the pedal the first 1-2cm do not give any revving at all.

Please help!!

Can you tell us a bit more background. Has this changed recently? Has the car had any work done to it? Any strange noises?

I recently changed power steering pipes, water pump and cambelt. Apart from that nothing else.

you have the 2 litre right? (just an educated guess)

i would suggest a throttle and ECU reset... should help cure it. ...

1) Disconnect the negative lead from the battery and leave it disconnected for 15 mins or so (you could just short the pos and neg cables but i dont like to do this)

2)Re-connect the battery neg lead.

3)Put key in ignition, turn to MAR and wait 2-3 mins.

4)Turn off the ignition, but not remove the key, wait 2-3 mins.

5)TuStart the engine up but DO NOT touch the accelerator.

6)Let it idle for 10 minutes.

7)take her for a little drive (i usually do about 10 miles)

sprinted - more responsive end result but lower MPG
casual - less responsive end result but more economical (lower performance)

in all fairness whichever method of driving you choose wont matter a great deal as the ECU will 'learn' your driving style and adjust accordingly anyway. i prefer to go for a very sprinted drive!

see if that helps things at all.

If the above mentioned doesn't help the next options are:
throttle body needs to be cleaned
old/dirty MAF sensor (clean or replace needed)
injectors might need a clean or professional check.

You just have turbo lag on your throttle pedal. :D

Press harder and sooner and that will cure all!

disconnect the maf and try the car, if its much better the maf is fecked. Do you have the fly-by-wire throttle? If so and the maf isnt the culprit then look at the throttle potentiometer.
