Hi,

I have been reading various threads etc on the above but I still cant cure the problem on my car so was wondering what to do next.

Connected up to ECUscan and the error code is C1340 Brake Light Switch.

Brake light switch has been changed for numerous different ones and double checked that they are good on other cars so have ruled that out.

The contacts in the connectors are good.

I have fitted a new battery.

Reset the the error each time I try something but still the error still appears.

Any idea what to try next?

I want my car back!

Another question is how reliable are the error codes? As the error code is quite specific in being the brake switch.

All the brake light switch error means is the signals coming from the wiring connected to the switch are doing something odd which is confusing the ABS ECU. It could be the switch OR it could be the wiring to the switch all the way back to the other parts the wiring connects to. Trace the wiring using ELearn wiring diagrams to see if you can work out other connections, relays, ECUs etc that might be causing a problem.
