my car seems to hesitate below 2000 rpm when on light throttle, almost feels the same as traction control when that cuts power, also the black smoke is embarrassing all the time even on light throttle but a lot worse under acceleration.

any ideas / pointers what is wrong or what to check?

Do a search on here for EGR and MAF problems. They're the most likely culprits.

mines same mate on 156 jtdm spoke to specialist he says egr not maf as that would affect in higher revs

EGR - demontage EGR Alfa 147/GT/Fiat stilo jtd 16v - YouTube - just in case!! take the 4 torx screws out once it is off and leave it in carb cleaner.

Be careful of the gaskets - dropped one of mine and had to get the wife to get it back out!!! She not happy!

hi went to check egr but found top intercooler hose was split ive repaired it with a puncture repair kit and sum self almagniatin tape. its only temp repair, wheres the best place to get a new hose?
