As title, are there any know issues with jtdm shafts? Like them twisting, causing an imbalance that can go away? Particularly on remapped cars?

Inner joints are really prone to wear. If you can grab the middle of the outer half of the driveshaft and wiggle it up and down, the bearing is worn or maybe the cup is worn.

Not heard of any twisting.

Yeah the spider bearing is all that hopefully wears over time (100k+ km).

You'll start to feel vibration in higher gears at cruising speed (80kph+) when you put your foot down.

My GT is currently on blocks to de-swirl flap and investigate just such a driveshaft issue.

The bad scenario is if the cup is worn/cut. In that case it's a driveshaft replacement not just the spider bearing.

There are two bearing types for the centre bearing also.
