Hey guys,

quick question, just how much blowby is normal for the 1.9 jtd engines? And by that I mean unscrewing the oil cap and letting it sit on the filler neck.

I've seen vehicles where the cap would stay almost still, but one Alfa GT that I checked out yesterday had the cap dancing around like in this video

upon startup the car also spew out blue smoke and was hesitant to start in the first place.

This is a new one lol. Why would you want to do it ....or even care?

I'm almost inclined to go try it.

Edit - just googled 'blow-by'. Now i get it!

Haha,
It is a fairly good way of immediately seeing the condition of the engine. The issue being that on some engines its less than others, and without knowing beforehand, its hard to make conclusions.
