Hi,

Anyone know now I can tell whether a gearbox is a 1.8 or 2.0 one?

Reason I ask is that The Banned One says I can swap the good bits off the selespeed gearbox I'm needing to repair/replace with a manual box (ie the casing).

I have a gearbox...but it came from a 156 that was registered as 1.8, but had a 2.0 engine in it. What I don't know is whether it has its original box, or the one that matched the engine...

5th gear gear ratio, compare the 5th gear on the sele with the one you want to use...

Hmmm...thought about that. Didn't know if there were any other differences though!

If they're not (and there aren't) I could just stick the sele's 5th gear cogs on, eh?

1st is different too if i remember right...I'm gutted i got rid of that box now... Anyway offer still there box is yours for the cost of postage...
