Hi ,
My 2017 mito Jtdm 1.3 would not start this morning. Turned over a couple of times ( 2 seconds) every attempt and then it stops . Not to a clicking flat battery stop. It just cuts off the starter but all lights etc stay on as normal. Volts and amps are normal for battery. ( To me I can't see it being battery as it turns over at speed as normal.

No fault codes , no lights on dash. The car was frozen over this morning for the first time in my ownership.

Trying to stay positive but this episode is how I pictured owning an Alfa but went with one anyway.

Any ideas ? Slightly annoying there's no error codes or lights on. As I could guess a few issues but without spending a fortune eliminating things I'm looking for about of help or advice.

Thanks

All good , it seems the battery was at fault despite not behaving like a flat battery. Volts were 11.4 and amps were low . Weird .. maybe these cars just don't do the whole clicking starter dash flashing thing.
Jumped it off a larger battery. It's been an expensive alfa week for me 😂

Just the starter squeezing the last juice out of the battery, if there enough left to keep the engine going the alternator boosts the battery again until the next time. Best to check the alternator as well.
