Is it me, or are the spider brakes a little useless in stopping you when the occassion arises?
My discs & pads have plenty on them, but they just do not seem to as effective as I would have expected from a reasonably quick car.
A bit like MK1 Golf GTi brakes...plenty under the bonnet, not alot...
Making my way home this evening along the 18 miles of country roads between my work and my home in my GT, I was pulled over by an unmarked Police car. Didn't think I was speeding so assumed maybe a back light had gone or similar !.
The conversation then went "that was some fancy driving sir...
My GTV has been at our local garage for about 8 weeks as were waiting for a new helicoil set to fix a leak in my sump drain plug.
The sump drain plug has been overtightened at some point and i hadn't realised thats where the car was leaking from. ( mind you its not totally sorted as there is...
This morning I went cycling with a mate in one of our inner city national parks.
On the way home I decided to take the long way as I know of a road that has some delicious twisty bits. Unfortunately, I was behind some @&$%* SUVs and couldn't fully appreciate the road. So, as you do, I turned...

Hi,
The guy I bought mt GTV off advised me to press the clutch fully when I turned the ignition switch and then gradually release after it starts - a practice more common to V6's rather than Alfas specifically. Make any sense to anyone ?
Cheers
Jeff
OK. I ride mountain bikes a LOT. Most of the time I ride straight from home or take the wife's car. But for big trips it'd be much nicer to take the 166.
I know you can't QUITE get a bike in the boot - so what racks / roof bars work well for you lot?

Now that the pissy autumn/winter/spring weather is in, I'm thinking of waxing the car to protect the paintwork.
I'm just wondering what the best available waxes are, and are there any to avoid ??
Anyone been to www.meguiars.com? It's insane it tells you absolutely everything about cleaning your motor, I mean everything. I was getting quite into it myself. Didn't know there was a difference between polish and wax. Now I do. Damn, now I need to wash, polish, wax that damn silver 156...
