  1. Alfa 145 & 146
Hi all, could anybody with a 146 (or maybe a 145) post a picture of how the jack, handle and spare are sitting in your boot? I just bought a 146 Ti as a mini restoration project and everything was just flung in loose. I can't figure out for the life of how it all locates properly. Thanks.

  4. General Motoring Discussion
Treated myself to an air powered impact wrench today; our motor club workshop has a big compressor and airlines all over the place, but sadly the air tools are all in shocking condition. Question is, how do I maintain it? I know to oil it, but what oil should I be using? There's also a small...
  5. Alfa Giulietta
I'm planning to change oil in my Giulietta QV 1750 Tbi, it will require a 32mm socket. Will a normal socket do the job or must I have a low profile 32mm filter wrench socket?

What is the best design of filter wrench for a V6 oil filter, I have got a strap type one and I am not having much success with it.

Trying to change the cat, but just not got the strength and rusty nuts. I've not got rusty nuts, the car. :D Anyone recommend an impact wrench or similar tool? I don't want to blow hard earned cash to find out I've shopped one with not enough power or doesn't fit.

I need help choosing which is better. What would you guys recommend? An air impact wrench and compressor or an electric impact wrench? They are both around the same price and I can't decide which to go for. Thanks

waste of money or worth a try? wrench extendible up to 500 mm. Would this chinese rubbish break within a second on car bolts? (bend like plastic) about 4 quid (toolrich) compared to a quality mexican wrench costing about 40 quid here...
  11. Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
Hi guys, I am currently in the market for a torque wrench and would like some input if possible. Shortly I will be swapping the clutch in a 3liter gtv and should really be using a good torque wrench to be fastening everything back up afterwards. Now my conundrum looking through the manual and...

Hi, started another thread, not much interest in Misc forum. Has anyone got Makita 6918FDWAE 12V Impact Wrench?

Hi, has anyone got Sealey 2400 or Clarke 450 impact wrench? I'm thinking of getting one, or maybe there are some better ones for arround that price 125? Would want to use, not just on wheels, but suspension, driveshafts etc. It could become my new best friend. PS. I know Snapon are the best...
  14. Alfa 33, Sud & Sprint
I recently bought a 1/2 inch torque wrench (about 24 inches in length). Now most of my sockets are 3/8 (except the large 17-30mm ones) and I have an adapter 1/2-3/8. Now for example when I use the wrench to tighten the head bolts with a 3/8 socket but adapted to the 1/2 torque wrench so I need...

Apologies if this is a really dumb *** question. I am changing the cam cover gasket on my TS following sophos9's excellent guide in the How To section. It says to use 6/7 newton metres on the torque wrench when refitting, but my torque wrench seems to start at about 28nm. Am I misunderstanding...
  16. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
This might be a no brainer. If your Alfa wheel wrench surface finish is like mine it's as good as a rasp file. If you want to keep your alloy in the wheel nut sockets scratch and abrasion free just wrap a couple of layers of gaffer tape round the wrench from the socket end along and past the...

Can anyone tell which which oil filter wrench / socket adapter I will need to remove the oil filter housing on my recently aquired 159? I read in a workshop manual that alfa tool 2000003900 is required... does anyone have one or know where they can be purchased? What about oil in these.. is it...

Hi all, This is just my second post on here, I've been reading the forum (and getting advice) for ages but never posted. I've been driving Alfas for 20 years too. Anyway I'm putting new pads in my GTV soon, it's a job I used to do myself in my Sprints and 75's but in recent years I've just...
  19. Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
In my lancia manuals all the torque wrench settings are listed together. My alfa cd manual just states the odd torque setting here or there, has anyone got a list for the TS engine? Cheers, Guy

Hi all, I wasn't sure which forum to post this in so appologies in advance. I am looking for a good quality, versatile but cheap as poss Torque Wrench.
