Hi all, Just replaced the 4 shocks on my G with B4s'. The rears were particularly difficult to get the top nut loose as to hold the shaft there is only the oblong shaped edge flattened shaft as in the image. I tried many things, a 6mm wrench will fit but just won't give the torque to loosen the...

Hi guys Some months ago I got a new A/C pump installed, condenser and fresh freon in my Alfa 159 2,4 JTDm TI which worked fine for a couple of days. The next 5000 km it only worked randomly two times. So my mechanic suspected it to be a defective A/C pump so he changed it again and it worked...

Hi guys the locking has never worked on my 156 1.9 jtd and I would really like to sort it as a great excuse to look bay at the car when pressing the button on the key. Lol! So I have made a star and replaced the key fob key with a new battery and......... Nothing! I am now thinking maybe be a...

I got my Alfa to drive while I take my Volvo 480 Turbo off the road to work on as it is too hard to do larger jobs on it and rely on it as my daily driver. Figured I would post some photos :)
  5. Alfa GTA
I know it's a bit of a joke that the GTA is the heaviest 156 even though alleggerita is supposed to mean lightened. Perhaps the italians meant ligtening you wallet! Makes sense to me. :D I'm off :getcoat:

As part of the cambelt change I fitted the repair parts to my son's variator as his had a 2 or 3 second rattle at start up. Repeated starts last night and this morning and the rattle is gone. I hope this is a long term fix. The £90 saving over a new variator seems worth it at the moment.

Got the Spider 30th August last year, for 2k.. So, exactlly 7 months on. I have spent the same again, getting it sorted out..:wow: And, that's not including tax or insurance. If Mrs PDF knew what I'd spent, I'd be living in the thing by now...:mygrin1: Alfas..? My beloved GT has spent just over 1 week at the dealer getting some warranty work done. The dealer gave me a courtesy car, not your usual run of the mill loaner. I have been running around in a SAAB 9-3 Convertible 1.8 Turbo, a very nice car and i was also able to take advantage of the...

Only recently with the hot weather did I notice that the aircon didn't work on my G. I took it to the garage and they regassed it which did bugger all, has anyone else had issues with their air con not working at all or at very best, takes a VERY long time to to even feel slightly cool. On a...
  12. Alfa Giulietta
I've had my G for a week now and although I've not clocked up many miles yet I'm VERY impressed so far and very glad I chose this car over an Audi or VW. I wasn't 100% sold on the styling from some angles at first, but it's grown on me it's amazing how many admiring looks you get when...
  13. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
Morning (here in the UK), on Monday morning my car had no power. I visited this site and checked forums. Everything pointed to the EGR valve. I removed it myself and cleaned it out well (although, I didn't drill and knock out the solonoid). Yesterday I refit it and took the car out for a...

My sunroof tilts up but doesn't slide back to open...or so I thought. The other day when using the alarm to lock the car instead of the sunroof closing (as it normally does) it actually opened. After getting in the car I found that the sunroof opened! SO, after a week of driving around with...

Gulp... cough...interesting. I'm waiting for some rims to replace a couple of wheels on my GT V6 and the dealer was kind enough to give me a brand new 147 2.0 Selespeed while I'm waiting. Have driven it on all sorts of different roads. I quickly discovered a few things. Rule No. 1... don't...

It is without a doubt, the most stupid looking car I've ever seen, but when one passed me today, it dawn on me what it is; it's just a Peugeot MPV, but with the entire middle section taken out; the back end and front end have been held together with the sliding doors from an 806. It must be the...
