Was after some advise on the best and cheapest way to get rid of the rust on both my front wings. My local classic restoration garage has quoted me £2000 to repair the rust and re-spray the front end, what has everyone else paid for their repairs? As this seems alot.
The other options is new...
How removable are the front wings on the Alfa 147 Mk1?
Are they just bolt on (I can see the bolts) or are they welded too?
Or just all painted once bolted?
I am thinking about swapping my front wings off a salvageable body same colour code as I'm looking at the bonnet and front bumper off that...
RE: 156 GTA Wings
Okay I know these are hard to come by but I need to either get my wings repaired or source new ones.
I'd originally thought they aren't bad and won't need much repair but the bodyshops I speak with are all hesitant to guarantee any such work for long so perhaps better going...
After an ultimately unsuccessful attempt to have the rusting front wings on my GTA repaired a couple of years ago, I've now bitten the bullet and bought a new pair from Italia Ricambi.
I'm having the new wings fitted and a full respray and wondered if anyone has any hints or suggestions...

I have news on the front of fibre glass bonnets and wings.
I can have them made, and shipped.
They will be made by a company here in Ireland that makes fibre glass and carbon fibre parts for race cars in Ireland and UK. They have a good reputation, and I have seen their products on...

They are £350 + VAT each
We have a paint shop so can organise fitting and painting
We can send them out but there is a risk of them getting damaged
I just wondered if anyone knows of any rust free 2000 model year 156 front wings and quarters panels please?
Also would anyone recommend aftermarket panels at all?
My 156 is starting to rust a little on the inner wings and a few blotches on the roof.
Thanks in advance
I'm sure that a lot of you will share my passion for keeping your Bella (mines a facelift 156) clean and that's exactly what I was doing today but something has stumped me in the engine bay :paranoid:
Where the wings meet the windscreen there is a kind of rubber sponge jammed in...
Can one of you knowledgable people help me on this one.
I've put the cup kit I've bought into the bodyshop for painting and trying to work out if the vented cup wings have an insert behind the mesh of not.
Looking at the various pictures online the wings appear to be completely opaque ie you...
Rust! - Inside of the front wings there is a little surface rust towards the rear of the vehicle, i imagine this is a common issue? If so whats the best way to rectify it before it spreads to visible areas?
