Hello! Maybe anyone know how solve my problem.
What i have. When i buy my Alfa( 1,5 Years ago), car is be warmed up, next day when i run it, i see the problem.
And now, i dont know what i need to change to be ok.
Car started normally, 1400rpm, then 1200, then ~900, and when temp is above 50C...
problem just suddenly started - seems fine when you first drive for ten mins then starts to go flat with a misfire any similar experiences? - Not sure but thought had similar before when i wash it pouring water down screen into engine bay?
Hi all, I have just bought a '51 2.4 JTD Veloce and found that after the engine warms up I am unable to go above 3500 revs, when cold it is fine. I also noticed the ecu light and the warning light has come on. Any Ideas?
Also does anyone know a good cheap Alfa motor mechanic near Trowbridge...
I was playing around with the satnav in the missus car the other day... I zoomed away out and noticed it looms like the Atlantic is drying up.... Wonder why Alfa didn't tell anyone?
On the bright side we'll be able to drive to New York in a few years..... Now that would be some meet! :thumbs...
Is this indicative of a gearbox on the way out, one that needs more oil in the box or the clutch is going and needs replacing?
When I say hard to get into gear I mean literally won't go in unless engine is off - it will grind if I try to push it into gear. If I start in gear with...
At what point do you consider your GTA engine to have warmed up, and what do you avoid doing until it is warm? Do you go by the water temp, the oil temp, or maybe even the climate control actually kicking in?
For me I go by the oil temp, and until I get the first bar lit I stay below 4000rpm...
Just been browsing around the web at Alfas.
I was never keen on the mito in photos but I've seen a few in the 'flesh' and I'm really starting to like them now...
Just seen this one -
and now I like them even more - Gorgeous!:thumbs:
Ok, I bought a 156 JTD (2003) back in June, and as a sweetener to stop my girlfriend moaning about how much it cost I told she will love it in the winter as it's got heated seats and an "additional heater" which warms the car even before the engine gets to temperature.
She liked the sound of...
Hi all.
just had a new rad fitted as mine was loosing its fins.
Well before change the temp would be about 90 at motorway speeds or just a little under and rise in traffic until the fan kicked in.
And after change its lower at about 80ish? or where the 9 of 90 is and when i stop it...
With so many of the 166 regulars buying <strike>tractors</strike> sorry I mean <strike>tight fisted oil burners</strike> OOPS... :D
Anyway I was wondering what cars we all fancy other than the 166?

Just want to know how the rest of you fellow GTV drivers warm your engines before giving them some welly. I tend not to rev over 3000rpm until I've been driving for over 10 mins, and after about 5 miles. Is this adequate or am I being overly cautious? I ask as I want my GTV to last and last, so...
A friend of mine told me that you didn't have to wait for diesel engines to warm up. Can't remember the exact explanation he gave, but as he's a farmer I wondered if this just applies to old diesel machinery and might no longer be true for modern turbo diesels.
Just curious if anyone knows?
My v6 turbo warms up so slowly - takes up to 10-15 kms on the highway to reach 90 degrees C.
It is a steady rise but slow.
I wonder whether an undertray would help conserve the heat in the engine bay. Any experience or ideas?
No, don't worry, I was only warming up my camera. :D
Honestly, what do you think of these shots? I didn't had the chance to control the light so, they're only show what was possible at the time. And I didn't move anything away from the show room. This was only a small test. ;)
I own a '99(V) facelift model 145 cloverleaf. The car always starts OK, but after a minute or two it starts to run erratically, i.e. it judders if I'm driving along at 30mph or if I'm sat at traffic lights the revs will rise and fall wildly until it (sometimes) stalls. Putting my foot on the...
