I’ve read conflicting threads on here about whether there is any point in using super unleaded with a 159 2.2. This fuel has a higher octane rating yes and contains cleaning agents, but does this justify using it over standard unleaded?
My tantelisingly close Quadrifoglio Verde will be my third car, and my first remotely in its sort of power range. The following is from the QV supplement, and being half-scottish I'd be keen to hear what the reality of premium economy is versus plain old 95 in the QV or comparable engines. If...
Hello, opinions on higher octane fuel vs regular unleaded. Having never owned a fastish (155bhp) car before I have only ever used supermarket fuel for the simple reason of price.
I only really use the car for 200mile trips every other weekend and do a little bit of town driving now and again...
Does anyone else find their GTA doesn't like the shell super unleaded?
I switched to using super when there was doubt as to whether the busso would take to the higher ethanol coming into regular. The car runs great on Esso Super, but we live between an Esso and Shell garage and the last few...
Just wanted to see what everyone recommends on this car. I have been using super unleaded and am averaging about 27mpg which is pants. Seems to run well enough though and the lambda sensor fault code I had up using rubbish fuel has gone.
Any one got their tuppence worth? :teacher:
Filled up with 99 RON (tesco 99) for the fist time the other day. I have already noticed a massive difference. The hesitation/power loss when cold is almost completely gone now. It seems to rev much easier and the engine struggles far less, especially when i leave it in too high a gear.
The timing on my NORD 105 hasn't been checked for 6 years (albeit only a few thousand miles);
Can you please help with the following:
- how often should the timing be checked - there isn't any issue with performance that i am aware of, but was just going to check any way.
- it runs on...
I always buy cheap petrol. Usually Morrisons on Sainsburys regular. The car runs fine on it without issues. Haven't used any super for donkeys years.
Last weekend I happened to have a £40 fuel card to use from a recent Michelin tyre purchase.
As I was t paying with real money I filled the car...
So to begin, I know I'm a complete tool.
I've put £20 worth of unleaded in my diesel Brera and need assistance! Anyone got any ideas on how to drain the tank? Tried the old hosepipe and lung thinking it wouldn't work, and yeah, it didn't.
I have recently ran into an issue where i was informed that the Alfa Nord motors could run on unleaded, so i tested this theory and I had huge amounts of issues in regards to the ignition i.e, rough idling and engine responce was really crap, thought it was the carbs that were out of...
Yes I am muppet and here's my story:
I have just aquired a three year old 159 1.9 JTDM lusso and yesterday I put about £1.75 worth of fuel of unleaded into the tank before I realised what I was doing (mitigating circumstances were that my last car was a 156 2.0 JTS). SO i panicked and asked the...
does anyone out there know if the 1985, 2Lt European delivery spider made to run on unleaded fuel? I want make sure it has the right valves and seats and I don't want to use additives.
I recently noticed that my 156 V6 had gone a little further in between fuel ups!
Then realised the only thing I had done differently was to use Shell V-Power instead of standard Unleaded!
So I carried out a little experiment over 6 tank fulls... Alternating between the two...
