  1. Toe 0 experiences, really it solves the problem of tyre wear?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hi, changing the brake pads I realised that with 15k kilometers (about 10k miles) the inner tyre was completelly weared. So, looking for solutions I´ve read about adjusting the toe at 0´ but nobody gives more information about if it really works or not. And really the idea doesn´t seduces me...
  2. Heel and toe; do autos "do it"?

    General Motoring Discussion
I kinda knew what H&T was but never understood why until I watched this a few times Well explained and I finally get it. I wondered if this technique was engineered into modern autos/flappies? Mindful of the fact I've only ever driven manuels, oops, manuals I did some research on the...
  3. Alfa 159 - Rear Toe and Camber bolts seized

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
I've recently purchased a 08 159 2.4 JTDm and during the "new" car inspection and fixs I've been told that the rear alignment can't be done due to seized screws. Aparently I'll need the screws and the bush but i can't find any definite answer to which part numbers I'll need to do this repair...
  4. Rear Toe arms (seized)

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Hi, My rear toe arms are seized in solid.. I have seen some replacements.. Is this a straight forward swap out or do you have to remove any of the rear suspension components when changing the arms? I was told applying heat to the arms might free them up as well.. haven't tried that yet. Thanks
  5. Photo of rear wheel toe adjusters?

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I had 2 new tyres put on my v6 spider last week. Driving it afterwards I noticed the steering wheel was at a slant to the left and car was pulling a little in that direction. I booked it in for a 4 wheel alignment this morning. It didn’t work out well, though, because they couldn’t find...
  6. Heel & Toe

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I find the pedal spacing brake to throttle a bit wide for heel & toe downchanges. How do the rest o you find it and is there a pedal kit you'd recommend to make it easier ?
  7. 147 Rear Toe Parts

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hello folks Rear toe adjuster nobbles and bolts have seized solid, mechanic says I need to get the bolt and stuff off alfa, and a bush or bushes. I had a look on Jamie Porter's site, but couldn't see anything. Anyone know what parts I'd need or even what to ask for? While I'm here, I've been...
  8. Finding new rear toe adjust bushes

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hi all, So my handy mechanic that tried to do a wheel alignment managed to displace and wreck the bushes that are "stabilizing" the rear toe adjust. It's hard to explain in detail which bushes I'm talking about so I attached a picture to clarify. Bushing of interest is shown in red in the...
  9. Toe out / toe in wheel alignment ?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hi, Just asked my tyre fitter to check my alignment as he measured them as :- FDS +4 FPS -5 RDS 6 RPS 6 I'm a bit annoyed as i had the alignment done there only 9 months ago and these are way out. Please can someone remind me what the consensus is for the settings on 19" TI wheels. Cheers...
  10. Inner edge tyre wear - front lower arm rear bushes or too much toe out ?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Just had the front lower arm rear bushes replaced with Powerflex upgrades at my local Inde. Thankfully the car sailed through the MOT with the only advisory being fairly bad inner edge tyre wear. With around 4 - 5 mm left on the front tyres I'm keen to put this right. The car is a 159ti...

    South Africa
Toe was out 1.18 for one wheel and 0.57 for the other and the tryes lasted 20 000km. Internal threads completely gone right to the nylon string while outside thread still looks awesome. New tyres, Falken, cost R4800. Took the rear to the front, rears still good. ut the new ones at the back...
  12. TBI wheel front toe, zero or -0.02?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
I have just had my Tbi aligned and the guy said all settings were miles out...hence why the back end was a bit skittish. Feels miles better now but I only checked the front toe printout when I left and noticed he had done it to the old setting of -0.08 after I gave him the settings suggested. I...
  13. Dipping my toe

    Introduce Yourself
Hi, I'm completely new to Alfa's. Currently I have a Mk4 Golf GTI, but she's getting more and more costly to run  I am test driving a Giulietta on Saturday, but having just sat in it I think I will end up with one! To even out I am also testing a Fiesta, but I have spent so long looking...
  14. Adjusting caster and toe on Alfa 156

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
 Hey guys! I have an Alfa 156 2.0 TS '97 model The car stood for two months and the back brakes rusted together so I was told to try to drag the car until the brakes would cut loose. The robe we had didn't fit the hole so one of the guy tied it to chamber. It didn't work so i just took of...

  16. Unable to set rear toe in

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi all After installing new rear and front rear arms, shocks and springs rear toe in cannot be set on my alfa 156. Excentric bolts are in extreme position on both sides, but it is still not enough. Didn't change old shock mounts, maybe this is the reason. Cheers Egor
  17. Toe in the water ...

    Introduce Yourself
Hello, I'm just a shy, Alfa-curious newbie who's having a weird mid-life crisis in the form of being lured away from my usual obsession with Japanese reliability. Having spent a year and a half driving a Clio (don't) I am now intrigued by the Alfa mystique - and wondering if the stories, good...

  19. 156 v6 rear toe

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi there, Just had my geometry done on the car, and gave the guy the settings etc. On picking it up he said the rear was not adjustable. Now I was led to believe all 156's had adjustable rear toe with the eccentric bolts. He said there was just plain bolts in there, hmmmm, they also had to...
