I recently discovered my '14 plate G (170 MultiAir TCT) was leaking small amounts of oil while on the driveway. Took it to my nearest mechanic and they recommended the sump be replaced. As I understand it, the sump is attached to the gearbox housing with some bolts and so the...
I nearly stripped the sump plug thread last oil change, it juuuuust tightened enough to hold, and so need to perform a thread repair during the next change. But can anybody tell me what the thread size is of the plug? I couldn't find a definitive answer. 1997 Spider Phase 1.5 CF1 2.0TS...
I just had a sump replace done after I cracked mine.
The oil light is staying on.
The "mechanic" who did the job was rough as anything and I am concerned he may have done some damage.
He is suggesting that there is a lack of oil pressure as a result of the car sitting without oil for a couple of...
So foolishly I cracked my sump, after searching for an age I couldn't find anything( apparently even alfa don't make or supply these) we tried to wield it up but it a magnesium alloy so obviously won't wield. My guy tried some kind of hardener and applied a few layers over a couple of days...
I am looking to replace the sump on my GTV V6. It appears I'll have to remove a section of the exhaust but there is also the power steering pipes in the way. Do these need to be removed or can they be moved out the way?
Can the sump come out with the engine in place? What is the chance of being able to do the bigend bearings in place. The crank might be ok as the car was on the lift at the workshop when the bigends went - Oil was just too old and too thick I guess, maybe the oil pump pickup was blocked. Would...
Hey. My oil sump threds for the sump plug are broken. Is is much of a hassle to change the entire oil sump? Considering just buying a used one without broken threds. Tried googling, but could not find an answer.
As I understand it, 1.6 liter - 2.0 liter twin spark oil sumps are interchangable...
Hi removed my rounded sump plug via drilling it out.
I have a 2014 2.0jtdm with the 13mm nut type. On eurocarparts it finds nothing with my reg, however manually entering car type it lists the below...
Now that my car can be officially termed as a "banger" and since the resale value is probably less than the cost of a skateboard, I have decided that it's time to save some money and do the basic servicing myself. I have the oil, oil filter and pollen filter arriving tomorrow from Shop 4 Parts...
I can find removal info for twinnies and 147/164
I want to put a new gasket on as I suspect that the bucket load of oil and black sealant hanging round means the one in there is knackered or missing.
How much do I have to remove to get the sump pan out.
Thanks in advance
My 2.0 T. Spark Spider is in need of a replacement rear exhaust section and oil sump pan. Does anyone happen to have either of these parts lying around? I would consider a standard or after market exhaust as longs as its not too loud!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My sump is leaking quite badly (enough to make a mess when parking) and I had a temporary fix with a liquid metal type of product which lasted a while. However I'd like to replace (or mend) the sump, but think it could be an expensive job.
It's a 2003 2.4JTD 10v 150BHP Veloce Sportwagon.
My 159 2.2 has an oil leak from a sensor that goes into the sump. From what I can work out on Elearn, its the oil level sensor and to change it is a sump off job as the electrical connector that is bolted through the sump then connects through to the actual sensor that is inside the sump. My...
