hello every one,
I am feeling that alfa 156 is a stupid car full of problems and issues, i regret the day i thought of owning it, I am living in a hot climate country, i turn the AC day and night,
the AC is cold but the air flow is super weak, i changed the air filters but nothing changed...
Hello! Im back in the arms after a 25 year break! Ive owned 2 75s and a 164 - all Twinsparks. The latest purchase is a cherished 166 2.5 V6 auto, 1999. Sometimes I just look at it :yum:
I had some newbie questions if you could help?
1. Mines had 2 cambelt changes in 70k miles - is that normal...
Hello all. I have just bought a 2010 TBi in the UK and brought it back to Ireland. I am more than delighted with it (thank you to whoever out there has kept the car for the last 8 years). The spec is even higher that I had looked for, in particular it has a media console instead of the standard...
It's used a lot on here, and it seems to be another name for the Giulia Quadrifoglio, but I can't find any reference to a Giulia QV on the (UK) Alfa website, so why do people call the Quadrifoglio a QV ?
Also lots of 3rd party reviewers call it a QV, in fact everyone except Alfa Romeo, it seems.
My giulietta needs new disks and pads all round. When I try to get a price either online or at a garage they always ask whether its got the "sports Pack " fitted. I dont know.
so what is it ? and how do I find out?
its a 60 Plate Lusso edition 1.4 Turbo..
I want to change my brakes on my 2007 2.2 JTS. Dumb question, but does it have the wired pad wear sensors in the front? Most higher performance sets don't offer this. Will I have to live with a light on my dash? Thanks
Predictably it is the drivers window which now goes down but does not come back up unless you wiggle in a rather odd fashion, not much fun at toll booths etc. It's a four window switch plus the "Lock" for the c/l, will any 156 switch panel fit?
... can you use a brake hose clamp on braided hoses (Goodridge)???
Need to swap out a rear caliper at some stage (seized handbrake mechanism) and wanted to lose as little fluid as poss in the process. Makes bleeding quicker.
When I fitted them I clamped the original hose, removed the...
Just had a Range Rover run into my rear end while I waited for traffic to clear at a roundabout. He asked Why did you stop?
He said lots more but most of the words started with F.
He wanted to pay for my damage and not go to insurance. Later he changed his mind when a quote came in at £2k and he...
After doing something on the engine i was constantly being called by my mother which made me lose concentration which lead me into making a mistake.
Can you spot what it is in the photo ???? (Clue is , The new cams are in and the timing is perfect)
the mistake is a very small looking one , But...
Who the hell designed the gear lever mechanism? Why underneath?????
Someone into s&m that's who. Skinned knuckles, sheared bolts, hilarious rusty cack in eye moments, followed by 25 minutes of figuring out how to disconnect the cable ends and retaining clips!!
My 55 plate 1.9JTD (140) has died. :(
Whilst I am still going through the grieving process, I have bought a 53 plate 1.9JTD (115).
It is gutless and has only 5 gears. Put this down to lack of Alfa experience on my part.
Question 1. Can the 6 speed box from the 55 go into the 53...
Well the heading says it all they aren't working and I can't see where they are fitted. Definite MOT failure so needs fixing.
1984 model so will they be fed via a fuse and relay or just a fuse? I don't really trust the Haynes manual and being a reprinted edition the wiring diagram really isn't...
I know this is probably a stupid question and completely impractical but I have a 1999 156 with a sunroof - this car is due to be scrapped due to terminal rust and ecu failure. I replaced it with a 2003 156 which sadly doesn't have a sunroof. So my stupid question is how hard is it for a body...
When I had my remap done, the DPF was removed and the EGR "deleted". My understanding is that this means the EGR is deactivated electronically. No mechanical intervention.
How does this compare to an EGR that's been physically blanked off? Is the effect the same? Does the "deleted" EGR still...
OK, so I promised myself that I would never buy another Alfa again after my Giulietta.....It's been a great car to be fair but it has had quite a few niggles and I can't find a single decent review of the QV which is what I'd go for. Journo's hate it.. My reason for this choice is that there are...
