Hey everyone! So, As I posted in the Newbie Area, which I totally am, I have purchased my first Alfa. I'm very excited about it and I know that since it's a 2008 it will be, to some degree, a labor of love, as I work to get it into a condition that will keep it well maintained from when I...
I've been looking into upgrading the stock stereo on my Brera, I have the standard CD player with Blue and Me. I've done some searching on the internet and on this site but hopefully my question is specific enough for a new thread.
For the past year I've been struggling with the local...
Hey guys iv gone through a lot of threads and Google searches and iv failed to grasp the wiring for steering controls to new headunit.
I picked up all the parts including CTSAR002.2 with CTMULTILEAD.2. The wiring diagrams are hopeless.
So I pulled out the standard radio the 2 main plugs fitted...
I finally bit the bullet and got an Apple Carplay unit installed. After much deliberation I chose the Sony XAV-AX100, catchy name, right? Chosen mainly for it's look inoffensive look and inclusion of a physical volume knob rather than pure touch screen which I think is daft in a car...
My wife has a 2008 147. We are looking to swap the head unit for a Sony unit. We are after a CD player with MP3 compatability and connects to her SAmsung phone.
Anyone have any particular recommendations?
If not Sony would anyone recommend anything else?
Many thanks rsfruitbat
I see that most of Sony's Xperia phones have active noise cancelling
with their own specific earphones.
Looks neat but has anyone tried them for real? (Like in a plane.)
The Z5 Compact looks the best fit for me, but not available in dual-SIM. (yet?) :(
Anyone managed to get a Z1 Compact to work with Blue&Me? I've downloaded the lastest software update and it works fine with my 14 year old's Vodafone handset but not with my Z1 - which is annoying because not only can I not make calls but he will GLOAT so...
Afternoon everyone ,
I have just received the steering wheel control cable , so will be installing this in the next few days . Whilst I am doing that I want to try to get the unit dimming with lights . I will either use the cigarette lighter illumination or run a wire from the sidelight fuses...

I've been using blue & me well with my iPhone but I've changed to a sony z3 and it connects to use the phone fine. However it doesn't like to connect to the stereo it has music on it but I just get a message saying nothing connected when i have the cable plugged in. Has anyone else...
So, from the title I bet you can guess what is coming...
PS4 vs Xbox One
Hopefully all being well with the bonus this year I am thinking either the PS4 or Xbox One? I've got a PS3 at the moment which has served me well over the last couple of years and I had an Xbox 360 before that. Is anyone...
Just loaded this Android app onto the new phone.
Didn't realise it worked on any Android. Not just Xperias.
You can use it to trigger events when things are plugged in or connect via Bluetooth.
I have installed a new Sony MEX-BT3100U and have the CTSAR001 hooked up. But...three of the steering wheel buttons have the wrong function. This is on a facelift 156.
The volume Up & Down are correct. The mute button seems to be "source". The down search button seems to "seek", which is ok, but...
I just though I'd share my experience with the CDX-DAB700U unit. Bought it in May online and used the excellent sticky on how to connect the headunit to the steering control, correct wiring connection and surround.
- Big display (flip down screen for the CD slot)
Has anyone bought a Sony XAV-601BT head unit? I'm thinking of buying one from Halfords and wondering how easy it is to fit myself as opposed to trust them with it.

I'm sure I had seen a guide on how to replace the head unit on a Brera...
I just bought a Sony BT4000u head unit, and ordered the Connect 2 steering adaptor, fascia plate, and am about to replace the stock head unit soon.
I have been thinking hard about the best way to do speaker upgrade, I think one of the rear ones is jarring. What are the best I can get to just...
Ive got a Sony Giga Panel h/unit to fit into my 147.
Ive bought a fascia plate. a Connects 2 CTSAR003 interface lead with a Sony patch lead. Ive connected up the patch lead and that just plugs in the back of the HU okay and ive plugged the CTSAR003 lead into the existing Alfa wiring ok.
Apologies for this..but im getting a bit mixed up up sorting out what i need to buy to fit my Sony Giga Panel Head unit.
Am I right in thinking that I should just need the following :-
Connects2 CTSAR003 cable kit
Sony patch lead
and a fascia panel adaptor kit?
I am new to this, so I apologise in advance if this question has already been asked.
I recently got an Alfa 147 Selespeed and have decided to put a Sony head unit in. I ordered the Sony ISO connector together with the patch lead and installed it over the weekend. Now I face a problem...
