  1. A sad day

    Alfa Giulietta
A sad day yesterday. My 2012 G failed the mot for the first time. Trouble is, it was on the emissions. All okay apart from the Lambda test. It should read less than 1.03. Mine was 1.04. That is, one hundredth part of a unit. My farts probably pollute the air more than that! No fault codes...
  2. A sad sight indeed....

    Alfa 164 & 166
    This really breaks my heart...
  3. Sad day

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
As in the title, sad day for me as the “Blue Witch” as the wife likes to call it has been written off . It doesn’t look to bad in the picture, however the suspension took a large whack and bent the subframe, wishbone and the wheel was pushed into the arch causing deformation of the inner wing ...

  6. A very Sad tale...

    General Alfa Discussion
So yesterday I went and picked up my new 147 GTA Selespeed which I won on eBay last Saturday. Whilst driving back along the A3 towards London (approx 30-40 miles covered) the 'motor control system warning' light came on and I lost complete power. I pulled over onto the verge and eventually the...
  7. Sad news for alfisti

    The Classic Alfa Romeos
I just wanted to let everyone here in the Classic AR Forum know that Jim "Papajam" Neill passed away after Christmas. He was a huge help to alfa owners over the pond, on the alfaBB, as well as to many of us here in GB/Europe, who benefited from his amazing coloured wiring diagrams as well as...

  13. Sad day...

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Ohh well, decided she is going - need an estate. And since Alfa didnt release anything between 159 and Giulia, i will have to go to dark side - BMW or Audi. Now she will have to go for peanuts, probably less than i have spent this year to keep her going. Found a BMW 3l diesel black with wheels...
  14. Sad day

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
My 156 has today gone to the great scrap yard in the sky. Bought it new in 1998, and it had done just over 100,000 miles. I took the red leather seats out which are still in fantastic condition. Will try and make a sofa and two chairs out of them. Sad day.:byebye:
  15. I'm quite sad at the moment...

  16. Brera replacement - A sad day potentially!

    General Motoring Discussion
Although I hate to think of the day I may have to relinquish my Brera 2.4, I need to know what car would others recommend that would still give you the killer looks and big grin factor that my Brera gives me every day? I have searched through cars available but nothing so far grabs your...
  17. Sad day....

    General Alfa Discussion
After purchasing a lovely 156 2.0 JTS Sportwagon on a whim, due to its cloth seats Mrs. P cannot transfer into the car. As a wheelchair user leather seats are easier to slide on. It's pity because it's a beaut: The engine is silky smooth and there's no squeaks, rattles or clonks from the...
  18. Goodbye 159. Its a sad day

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
I havent posted on this forum for a while, but just wanted to inform you that my beloved 159 1.9 JTDM is having to be scrapped. The curse of the dreaded M32 gearbox, unfortunately has completey given up. So, I have a question - How much do you think I can get for scrap? WBACar offer is £350...
  19. Sad day...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Today is a sad day. This morning some dozy [email protected] in a new Range Rover ended my beloved 156 by stuffing into my rear end. The damage is catastrophic. Even the wheel well is crumpled. What really grips my biscuit is that I've spent £2500 in the last 2 years on all sorts of goodies on my 156. 330mm...
  20. A sad time

    Alfa Giulietta
Well after nearly 4 years of ownership it's time to start saying goodbye to the best car me or my wife have owned our beloved Giulietta. What a cracking car! apart from the first week of ownership where the alternator had seized (due to standing around too long before we bought it which was...
