  1. Track rod end problems

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hello everyone [emoji112] Took car in today for 2 tyres and tracking. Two Avon's fitted very nicely but followed with a chat from the person fitting. He didn't bother doing tracking due to play in the inner tie rods. Thought that was fair enough asked there hourly rate and it was £45 an hour...
  2. Gearbox selector tie rod

    Alfa Giulietta
Am I the first person to suffer this? Tuning & Upgrades
Hello guys, I got me an alfa 156 2.4jtd 150 hp which runs great :) I see that my wastegate has a nut which I can tighten to adjust the turbo boost and I am being tempted A LOT by these things. So here comes the question. Can I turn it just a bit so I will get a bit more boost and therefore...
  4. Changing front springs - damper rod not centred

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
So I'm replacing my 30mm lowering springs for standard springs and when I tighten the top nut up the damper rod is way over to one side. Using Bilstein B6 Sport dampers. It's really odd and I can't see where I'm going from. Any ideas?

I am trying to work out what's missing , so according to eper the parts I want to show inside the gearstick sleeve has no spring on my GT.Has it has come adrift and looking at the picture I picked of a thread on here, there is a black sleeve over the main shaft with a spring, but I seem to...
  6. Inner tie rod

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Today I went to fit a new inner tie rod, bought one from the local motor factor's. It didn't come with a new gaiter and the original doesn't fit. When I contacted them they said a universal would do the job. I'm not to keen on a universal, would you?
  7. Link Rod Bottom??

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
I live in Singapore and have a 159 JTS Selespeed, which my local Alfa specialist has said my Link Rod Bottom is getting worn and needs replacement. OK I said change it, but they told me today that Alfa are no longer making this spare part from Italy and they don't know any OEM's making it. Does...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hey all, Bit of an irritating one here. I recently regreased the upper wishbones on my GT and got new front tyres. When the garage went to track the fronts they said the old tie rod nuts were seized. I cut them off myself with a grinder and got new ones to replace them. Took it back to be...

  12. Track rod ends

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Afternoon all, I posted a thread recently about an alignment I had one, which wasn't done well even if the track rods were pretty badly seized. Since then I've cooled down a bit and as they're not expensive and they will only continue to be a problem, is it worth purchasing a new pair for them...

Hi all, hope someone will be able to help me with this. After the engine blew up 18 months ago I've finally got my 156 jtd working again, and I thought I'd get the sticky gearbox issue sorted before MoT (tomorrow, haha!!) as the stick wasn't returning to neutral (seems quite a common problem so...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi All, I've decided to replace a few parts on the old girl, but I'm in a bit of confusion by the track rod ends. At Alfa workshop there are different TRW ones for the CF3 and CF4 engines, but the original ALFA part is the same? Alfa Romeo GT Track Rod End At AutoLusso, they don't state the...

  17. Tie rod

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi all - am trying, with no luck, to replace tie rod on my 2004 147 16v jtd. Have looked at many posts and they all advise that there will be a flat on the steering rack side that I can use a spanner on, then stillsons on the tie rod ball joint. Looking at mine there is a short rod (maybe 2...
  18. Clutch rod adjustment and calibration - Croydon

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Gentleman, I have a 2003 Alfa 147 Selespeed that needs some TLC it would seem and I don't want to drive her until she's had it. I was hoping there was someone close to Croydon who could come round and put her on the computer so I can adjust the clutch rod and calibrate the selespeed...
  19. Tie rod Ball Joint Failure

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Have not had a good run with the 156 lately. 2001 Twin Spark Monza, 33,000kms. Have always been serviced by Alfa Romeo main dealer workshop. Gearbox originally came out after 2,000kms to fix a broken tooth under warranty. Only did about 25,000kms over the next 12 years and then started using...
  20. Xenon rear level link rod

    Alfa 164 & 166
I need to replace my rear xenon level sensor link rod to pass the MOT. Removed it along with the bracket connecting it to the car earlier today. Unfortunately the small bolt used (the one that goes through the hole in the second pic) sheared as soon as I started and I now have nowhere to fasten...
