Been searching around the web & specifically in this site for threads of the like, couldn't find any. Most of the threads were not about removing the resonator specifically, but more about exhaust changes in general.
My 2012 GQV got a REMUS silencer, everything else is stock.
Recently I was thinking of putting a shiny induction doohicky on my GTA but when I looked into it I read that the Helmholtz chamber on the factory system helps to absorb the shock waves coming from the inlet valves and increase the efficiency of the induction system, whereas previously I thought...
Thought I’d put this in its own thread to add to the knowledge base for future reference for others. I’d originally posted it in response to an air filter replacement thread but thought it might get a bit lost.
Anyone wanting a loud Brera or thinking of a sports exhaust, this is...
Been looking into the GTA intake pipe mod for the resonator box on my 2.0 JTS
On all the posts people are talking about TS models .... will this work on my JTS aswell and if so any advice on where to get hold of a GTA intake pipe?
It's a 56 plate 156 SW 2.0 JTS
Thanks in advance
Today I conducted a massively un-scientific experiment.
My car came with the big black plastic resonator. I replaced it about a year and a half ago with a 90mm alloy elbow.
Recent talk here about the relative merits of having the resonator or not got me thinking.
Today, I took the car with...
Hello, new member here from Portugal,i've seen a few threads on this forum about removing the resonator box on the 2.4JTDm but all of them ended without the person who was going to perform the mod not saying anything else at all..
So my questions are,is it safe to simply remove the resonator...
I plan to remove the resonator highlighted in the attached picture. The question I ask is are there any off the shelf solutions? By this I mean cut with the right length and diameter to fit right in with the right material properties not to melt in that oven like engine bay.
Hi guys, just in the middle of fitting a Fmic to my 147 Jtdm, got all the pipework sorted, it's coming back off to get bead rolled this week so looking to get it all back on next week.
Only thing I haven't done yet it chop the resonator off the airbox and just wondered if anyone knows off the...
I want rid if the resonator in my air intake.
I'm thinking of going for a couple of 76mm alloy pipes, one 90 and one 45 degree, a couple of silicon joiners and a saw.
Anyone done it before to a GTA?
I've just been reading a how to using silicone pipework and alloy joiners, but I think the...
good morning all, again, :)
i was just wondering, does much go wrong with the lower resonator and the main air duct into the filter box,?
ive bought the proper filter and a new maf, (not yet in) checked the induction pipe, theres no splits or leaks,
but before i go installing the new air...
Did this small mod today on my sportswagon resonator out gta intake in ... feels like a little more throttle response
(or not ) but sounds much much better

After upgrading the stock paper air filter element, (opted for Autodelta's oil free one). I was wondering what, of anything can be done about the resonator?
As far as I can see, it's actually a part of the air filter box? On opening the housing, I have an intake trumpet, coming from...
Have recently bought my car as a project and as part of that process will chnage all the service bits including the air filter. Well......thought the filter would be a mess as the nuts were trully welded on, my fingers are in bits! Anyway finally got to it and it was clean, the top of the...
