I've incurred damage to my rear bumper so am getting it changed, do the parking senors pop out & back in, or is it more involved than that? I've been told that they're plastic welded in to the bumper, in which case could I still re-use the original sensors & if so how do I refit them? Thanks

Hi to all, (I need to access to the wiring to be able to unplug and then push out enough of it to investigate a broken earth wire in the left hand rubber boot. I'm fairly certain this is the fault as left side tailgate lighting cluster is all dead, and then was intermittent when wiggling the...

I will shortly be refitting the engine and gearbox in my S2 Spider, which is considered easier fitting the engine and gearbox together or engine first then fitting the gearbox to the engine from underneath the car

Does anyone have any photos of how to do this on the 2.2 brera? I took my undertray off today to wax the subframe and found half of the Mangoletsi Mod4 air filter lying on it. Basically it's fallen to pieces so I've been driving around without an air filter (when you looked from the engine bay...

Right then, Bought myself an Kenwood DNX 7240 BT last summer (second hand - Pre-updated to Vers 1.7). Fitted it all myself and generally was quite impressed with it. However, I can't find a way to update it to Vers 1.9 (and I have tried, CD/DVD/USB - None of them have worked and therefore I...

Just replaced the top mounts for the front struts, failing to notice the angle that the top metal bracket sits at in relation to the shock absorber. I see that there is a small hole on the outside of the metal bracket, should this line up perfectly with the hook at the bottom of the shock? Is it...

I just found an early stage of rust patch at the edge of the roof of my 156. To do a proper job, I'm planning to remove the rear windscreen first, tackle the rust and re-fit the windscreen afterwards. But do I need to replace the rubber seal at the same time and if so, where can I get the...

Hi Finally got a replacement Bose amp from ebay after realising that I was sold the car without the amp - factory fitted Bose system in a 156 JTS Lusso '03 old shape. On plugging the replacement amp in (thankfully whoever removed it just unplugged it) a 10 amp fuse blew taking out fuel and...

Well the knocking from OSF has started to get worse over the last few weeks so I decided to have a look at the state of the upper wishbone today. After reading some of the great how tos on here I'd got myself a set of t bolt spanners so I wouldn't have to mess about too much with the spring...

The oil pump has them grooves on the top end of the shaft where the distributor sits. I asume this sets the timing to a rough setting.....? How do I know which position they need to be compared to the engine (piston) positions?

The heatshield tunnel was unscrewed to get the front subframe off, and the rear two bolts I carefully left in have dropped out so now the whole section is loose. The subframe is now back on but I can't get the tunnel to line up for fixing. It is about 50mm too far back and doesn't want to come...

I have asked in another thread, but thought this might deseve its own. I'm worried that I have refitted my fuel rail incorrectly. If I tell you how I did it, you can tell me how I have done it incorrectly. Firstly, all injectors were in the engine. The rubber o rings were on top of the...

Hey there, I am having a problem refitting my original Clarion cassette player into the original housing in my 97 Spider. I removed my air box today to fix sheared off bolt as it was not air tight. Got it all sorted but can't get the airbox back in. I can't seem to get the knob at the bottom (ooh err) to fit into the hole of the bracket and in the top as well. Is there a knack to this? Can I remove the housing...

Hi again, I have a passenger mirror (nearside door) which doesn’t adjust and the glass feels loose. I read somewhere on here that it may be wrongly fitted and I pulled the glass off and ensured the nylon ‘racks’ fitted onto the motorised pinions of the electrical adjustment. The whole mirror...
