I'm about to fit a new driveshaft. I'm going to change the gearbox oil at the same time. Pricing up mt90 it's going to cost me about £65 for just under three litres. Much more than gear oils available from my local motor factors.
Is it worth paying that much. It'll only be in there for two...
I need to do some oil changes and will go for Redline 75/90 NS for the gearbox.
For the differential there seems to be a choice between RED LINE Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 GL5 and RED LINE Synthetic Manual Transmission 90 MT90 75W-90 GL4.
Which should I opt for?
Went for this oil for my gearbox seeing as its the closest I can find to the original alfa spec 75w85 but also promises to be fantastic at changing my box from notchy and not liking high rev changes!
Any thoughts as I see the fuchs 75w80 and mt90 (which I nearly got but was worried about it...
Redline on the rev counter in my QV starts at 6500 rpm, but the car cuts out at around 6000. Is that normal ?
I'm aware there is not much point in revving that high, but revs are building up fast in lower gears... :lol:

This stuff (gearbox oil) really works - changed mine today and now I don't have to skip 2nd when she's cold, not quite the proverbial knife through butter but much improved - for once it does what it says on the tin!

Hi, I own a 2003 156 JTS Selespeed and was wondering if I can get my software updated or changed for the Selespeed so that it doesn't change up to the next gear at redline.
I believe this was done to the GT when it was released or so I read here
