It seems to be in place of an 80 km/h limit sign on rural roads. IIRC it's a grey circle with some grey parallel lines running from 2 o'clock to 7 o'clock usually accompanied by a Slow/Go Mall plaque. I can't find it explained on-line.

Seems like my missing brake fluid was due to a rupture in one of the rear brake pipes before the hose.
Usually after a cup of tea and the laptop I would have found any part I'm after but I'm only coming across copper piping I have to bend myself and get the right fitments.
