Found this on the bbc site, its the MOT pass/fail stats for all cars during 2007. Thankfully Alfas come high up the list alphabetically (if not for reliability!) (or should that be alfabetically!) so you don't have to scroll down much...
The BBC has succeeded in an FOI request to VOSA to publish MOT failure rates.
Full story here.
Obviously lots of interesting analysis to be done, but as a first pass in looking at 916s, I selected just the data since 1996 (as we're looking at 916s only here).
GTVs have an average MOT failure...
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere before: there is an interesting article on the BBC website today on the failure rates of every car MOT tested.
BBC - Open Secrets: MOT failure rates released
there is a downloadable spreadheet which gives all the figures for example:
I was just looking at the newly released MOT failure data. The 166 shows up quite well
1999 405 427 51.3%
2000 412 351 46.0%
2001 281 258 47.9%
2002 144 93 39.2%
2003 99 45 31.3%
2004 72 26 26.5%
That's year of first use, passes, fails and failure rate.
Obviously the BMW's Mercs and Lexus do...
I am very very very seriously tempted by a Mito. I went for a test drive today, genuinely hoping i wouldn't like it, unfortunately, i loved it!
Only thing is, I am feeling, that if I am going to spend that much on a car, I want an all or nothing scenario - so I want the 155tb...
Does anybody know what the spring rates for the 147 2.0 is. i cant seem to find any figures anywhere. and also what are the spring rates of eibach springs for the 147.
Preferably in lbs/in too.
Just announced in the budget, from what I can gather...
2009/10 £215 (Band K, 2 Includes cars emitting over 225g/km registered between 1 March 2001 and 23 March 2006)
2010/11 £245 (Still band K).
The worrying bit is that they are saying for now in 2010/11 they will remain in band K. Not sure...
I am looking to buy a 147 GTA but after been informed GT 3.2 V6 road tax price is £405 for 12 months :wow:   I assume GTA is the same price due to same engine?
I aint paying Gordon Brown that amount for sitting in the traffic due to on going road works.
Noticed that from 2010 the Rate will be £455 for the 147 GTA.
As I want one of these for my next car what do you all think ?
I do about 125 miles a week but hopefully this will go down to 70 ish a week.
Just wondering if anyone Test drove any other Cars before the GTA.
I know 2010 is...
First the good news, I think I have convinced the boss to give a company car, and he is open to an Alfa.
Now the difficult bit. Where can I get the best price. I would take any model and need it for 20,000 miles per year.
What do others pay (if you don't mind me asking)
Following on from the Arna thread, the Alfasud and associated Sprint must be one of the poorest surviving cars of all time when the number produced new is compared with the survivors left.
There were just over 1,000,000 cars made new and I can't see there being more than 200-300 in the UK...
Just interested to know this, I got into a minor spat about him regarding his F1 career to date. I don't rate him BTW, I think he is overrated and don't think he will be a champion unless Honda and the team wave a magic wand. :)
