Just wondering if I'm the only one that has trouble getting the 156 to go a decent standing start.
I find that once it is going, it is fine, but if I want to pull out quickly at a roundabout it is hopeless. Other gear changes are fine, just the get moving in 1st that causes me...
Anyone else use a trolley jack attached lifting beam, to hike the back or front up, to do wheels off jobs? How do you rate them? Personally I reckon they are a great bit of kit for DIY maintenance, anyone else with me in this camp?:D
I drive a Miro Red 156 GTA and live in the Wrexham area.
Just found this forum last night looking for info after suffering what i suspect is a gearbox faliure and have spent most of my (working?) day enjoying the posts.
Mrs SR is looking at chopping her 156 SW in for a 3.2 GT.
It's an Oct 05 car, 1 private owner, 7k on the clock, 130 Red, Black leather, BOSE, parking sensors and 17" alloys. Car is mint and drives:cool:
It's on for £19640 and they'll give us £9k for the wagon.
Please advise of...
Unfortunately, working for a German company, means I have to have a German car - unless I opt out of the company car scheme - which I won't do whilst I'm doing 40k miles / year.
Anyway, I got myself a Passat B6 (current / new shape) 2.0TDI 140. It's pearl black with pimp tint rear windows.
Hi just a quick hello, Joined yesterday and have spent two days reading just about every thread relating to 146 to find a problem like mine, not found one yet so will post mine tomorrow and hope to get some help. Everyone seems friendly and knows enough about the alfa to help. Anyway hi everyone...
Ever since I bought my 147 sele I've had a little pondering- the headlights don't seem to have a definite horizontal line that they cut off at. The light seems to spill right up so it I can see quite a bit of light appear on trees etc above the road ahead!
Is this just as it's an older car...
I had a random 'low brake fluid level' warning the other day (nothing since so may have been a glitch) so thought I'd check the fluid level myself. How do I know it's full enough? at the mo it just comes up high enough to cover the bottom of the little filter insert (if that makes sense) I...
Hi, I'm hoping there's someone who's done a bit of metallic spraying.
I've got the metallic paint layers down. I put one thick coat on, flatted it & then applied 2 thin coats.
It is rough but very even in colour and texture (a lot better than I hoped).
Would it be best to flat it before...
Can anybody tell me the the part number for the 17" multispoke alloy wheel ?
I'm selling one on ebay, and have been asked to confirm it. Unfortunately there are a couple of numbers on the back, so I'm not 100% sure which one it is.
Just introducing myself, my brother has bought a 156 2.4JTD which according to the VIN plates is a 140bhp model.
He knows next to nothing about cars and I end up looking after them, so I may be making a few pleas for help on here having never worked on either a diesel or an Alfa before.
Alfa running fine (touch wood) but if left for a week+ struggles to start. Figured it needs a new battery before electrics/ECU start going haywire
Been quoted £84 and £58 for a genuine Alfa (branded) battery so far, is this the right part no.
Car is a 156, 1.8...
Firstly, briught my car with 76000 miles about 10 months ago, now done 82000 miles, had cam belt change already. was serviced before i purchased so at about 75000. When should i get it serviced again based on this?

I've plugged in my Blaupunkt aux-in cable, but as is common I've found no option to enable the aux-in and the SRC button isn't changing to CHANGER. It does occasionally when I push SRC on startup, but very rarely,.
Which of the terminals on the AUX-in plug do I join? I read somewhere '13&14'...
I'm new here
I stumbled across this forum through google and was very pleased to find that such an informative forum dedicated to alfa
I am viewing an alfa 156 today. If all goes well I will leave a deposit on it. However i wanted to ask for your advice. Here are the details of...
I am heading out at 9 to get my trailing arms fitted.
Car is 2001, has now drop links at front, but not rear.
My problem is rear end waggle (ooh err missus).
Is it worth going to the stealers and grabbing a pair and getting sorted just now, or should I just see how the repair goes and...
