Has anyone tinkered about with a HP diesel pump before?
I'm based in a ChemEng research lab at the moment, finding that we need a pump capable of delivering high-pressure (~200 bar) at a low-ish flow rate (~10 mL / min), of a solution of smashed up plant bits (d < 1.4mm) in water...
Got the whole job of plugging the intake manifold soon. What are the best brands of water pump and timing belt kits for these cars would you say?
I am happy to just wait until Eurocarparts or Mister-Auto have a big sale and just make the most of it whilst they are on their sale...
So this weekend I decided to spend some time on my troublesome Giulietta so that I can stop hating it and start enjoying it.
So, first things first, I stripped the engine down and put the old water pump back on. Result! the engine no longer whines up to 3000rpm and has gone back to being...
Problem with a fuel pipe on my 1.9 JTD, 2007 GT
Steel pipe joining the HP pump to the fuel rail keeps failing. The original (as far as i can tell) was on for over 7 years and 124k miles. I am now on my third after the second failed a month ago, 6 weeks after replacement. The latest replacement...
My external fuel pump is emitting a high pitched whine. I understand that this can be caused by wear of the pump or the failure of the internal (tank) pump. To test the internal pump I bypassed its circuit by running direct power to it from the battery. I could not detect any noise or vibration...
Have any S2 owners had any experience of fitting an electric pump rather than use the fitted mechanical pump?
If so has there been a noticeable improvement in starting?
If this has been found to be beneficial can you advise on the following:
1. What make of pump did you fit?
2. Where in the...
Has anyone had Circoli water pumps fitted on their GTA? As far as I’m aware they’re a decent brand, but wanted to make sure!
I think originals were supplied by Bugatti (perhaps a different Bugatti to the Veyron manufacturer?!).
I know the issue of cambelt changes being necessary earlier than handbooks say , due to w.pump bearing failure , has been well documented on here -- however , does anyone know whether the pump can be taken apart ? If they fail due to water ingress into the bearing then lubricating the seal...
I have had my GT for about 3 months now and I must say I love her to pieces. What a great car and the sound of that V6 engine is to die for.
When purchasing the car I looked for one with a cambelt change etc so I didn't have to worry about the expense of having it done myself.
It's been referenced in the other thread about the difference between the heads, but can anyone detail the differences between the single and twin carb fuel pumps?
I've been having various issues following a twin carb conversion on the sud and after working through some other ignition problems...
...I took the wheel off to try get a better look and it seems to be coming from behind the pulley on the water pump?
It's not a big leak, i'm having to top the reservoir up about once a week with a 1 cup of water.
Do you thing it's maybe just the gasket?
And do I REALLY REALLY have to take...
It's been a while since I last posted here, but I think my 146ti (~120k miles on the clock) overheard me being smug about reliability:
I took it in for a cambelt service last month, and the auxiliary belt was replaced as well.
A few miles afterwards (maybe 30) the power steering...
Can you open up water pumps to see if they have metal or plastic impellors?
I am about to embark on a bit of engine work, which may involve a rebelt and I was thinking about the water pump as it is down there. I had my water pump replaced about 4 years ago, would it be dangerous to assume it...
any one knows if the Phase-2 3L fuel pump can be used for the Phase-1 2L GTV?
i expect the 3L unit can pumps out more fuel than the 2L unit, but will be regulated by the fuel pressure regulator.
any feedback or comments will be very helpful.
