Hi, after changing the turbo i noticed the aircon pump pully is a bit noisey metalic rubbing noise,(think its the pully clutch?) now my aircon needs a new condensor due to a light bump the car had before i bought it, never bothered getting one as not essential apart from the odd couple weeks of...
Anyone any top tips on how to get the crankshaft pully of an Alfa 147? :cry:
I know it is tight, but my main problem is the crank turning while I'm trying to release the pully bolt.

Can anyone tell me the part number of the idler pully for the auxiliary belt (as in top pulley for my alternator etc) on my 2.4jtd 20v, mine is squeaking and think I'll need a new one before it falls off..or something like that :rolleyes:
Does anyone know if the lower (crank) cambelt pully is the same on the 1.8 and 2.0 as the 1.6?
I need a new one as a garage has taken a grinder to the one on the car while trying to do a cambelt :eek:

Took my car for cambelt service and the guy ( alfa specialist) who was doing it couldnt undo the crankshaft pully bolt.
It was dead tight or he didnt have a strong enough air gun / tools.
has anyone had this problem before and can any one recommend anything or somewhere I can take it...

I've got a high pitched squeek from the front of the engine (2.4 JTD) but only at tickover speed. It's been in the workshop and they say it's probably a belt...it's not a belt, I am sure of that! I suspect an alternator bearing, possibly the water pump but if that starts to fail there is usualy...

Just got back in to Alfas and 4 weeks on and dont I know it. lol:cry:
Garage changed the cam belt last week as part of the sale. 60 miles later one of the aux pulleys snapped off leaving the other half of the bolt still in the engine.
I am asuming there spanner monkey over tightened the bolt...
