Apologies for asking loads of questions but I am sorting out some of the various niggles on my 2001 GTV TS. It is due for a cam belt change and reading through various threads and discussions I am a bit confused. Obviously the belt itself needs replacing and a second smaller belt that has to...

Hi all, My 20v Jtd needs some TLC, and I need help. After driving through a semi flooded country lane at speed last year (not intentionally!), the engine developed a whiny sound. No damage done, but I suspected one of the lower auxiliary pulleys. A few mechanics have had a look, but at the...

Got a very anoying squeak coming from around the aux belt area, I have changed the tensioner and the air con pulley noise stopped briefly then came back with a vengance. I have run the engine with the belt off and the water pump seems OK, the alternator feels OK, anybody got any ideas...

Since I bought my GTA I have had the cambelt (and everything related to it replaced 3 times). Once I paid for, two under warranty.. Two of the three cases it was replaced due to faulty pulleys..! Any particular reason my car would be so prone to this?

Hi guys, I've had my 147 lusso diesel for a little over 2 months now. I've started getting a chirping from the timing belt side of the car. I've been to three different garages to diagnose and fix problem. It's booked in for Tuesday costing me £256.18 for new belts, pulleys, water pump, just...

So judging by the crunching noise that eminated from under the bonnet and the fact that the cambelt now seems to be rubbing against the engine block, I think that the idler pulley has eaten its bearing, or possibly the tensioner bearing has gone. I'm not sure as the cambelt seems to pull towards...

Hello, Was just poking around with my engine... took these 2 photos of the timing belt. Seems to me the belt is not sitting quite "central" on the pulley (shiny metal visable to one side of it) Should I be concerned? Cheers Mike

Hi guys, I need a set of 4 vernier cam pulleys for my 16v engine of my 33. I've asked Adie at AHM, Gus - ALFATUNER, and Tom from BLS. None of them have any in stock. Has anyone got any ideas on where I could get them, either used or new ?

I have a pair of vernier cam pulleys that I had made up for my 1.7L 8valve. The engine has standard cams and hydraulic tappets and was rebuilt with a slightly increased compression ratio of about 9.8:1 (0.8mm off the block), as well as Megajolt electronic ignition. When I had them done I forgot...
