I was pretty unhappy (make that 'gutted') about the power output of my car on Saturday - 192bhp (same as wrinx, coincidentally) while it should be about 40 more than that.
Kershaws diagnosed fuel starvation which made power drop rapidly above about 6400rpm, but comparing the plot against the...
Recently I suffered a Cambelt failure and after some expensive (could have been a lot worse) repairs and a full service later, there is a massive power loss and very severe flat spots. I need 3K revs to pull away otherwise it bogs down, and the same on changing up or down gears...
Had a call from the g/f this morning to say the steering wouldn't work on the twinny.
I turned up 5 minutes later and started the car, no problems with the steering at all. No noises evident and no warning, it just stopped for about 5mins
This is mainly for the guys going to the rolling road session in York, but anyone can join in.
With a lot of us having little mods to our car engines, we then expect a certain amount of extra BHP.
So I wondered what we think each of our cars is producing.
Remember those going on the RR session...
Free to anybody that needs them, one set of seals (3no) for one side of a power steering rack for a 1985 2litre TS, part no 60734818 (still in packet).
Just send PM, e-mail etc.
Hey guys. Just trying to do some math.
The carbon fibre intake is meant to give me 4hp extra.
I was wondering if my Sebring exhaust (just a back box, not a full system) would give me any power gains too? If so, how much? Any ideas?
Do`nt know if you`ve all read this months EVO magazine, but the topic for this month is power and if it always adds to a good performance car.
Taking something like an Audi RS6 as an example which has 450 bhp and huge performance, but little in the way of driver involvement ,specifically steering...
Last week my airconditioning belt snapped. Probably because of the tightner (is this correct english?) that got stuck during heavy cold. It tore off half of the belt on the highway, but I was able to get it fixed the same day.
The problem is that after I picked up the car, the warning light for...
As some of you know, I'm seriously searching a way to connect a Laptop to the CAN-B and CAN-C network of the 147 with the goal to modify some parameters dynamically (including ECU of course).
I've got an answer today from a manufacturer who sell that kind of material.
The price is about 3 000...
Hi,not been around for a while but this problem is worrying me as it sounds expensive. The thing is the steering stays at it's lightest all the time.Bit worrying when your doing 100+ in a car that feels like a punto stuck in city mode.Any help or similar experiences would be appreciated if only...
I have a 155 1.8 TS 16v and i have the following problem:
My steering oil started slowly to disappear, so i had it checked at my local mechanic. They changed a broken hose and refilled the oil.
Then i noticed that while driving the wheel makes "power steering oil level low" noises again (only...
Anyone got any ideas re a very noisy power steering? Most of the time it's just a slight whine from the engine bay, but when the engine's warm, sometimes I get vibration and a lot of 'hydraulics' noise. Steering seems a sharp as ever but wondering if it's all going to go wrong on a...
Wondering if some kind soul could shine a light on a problem I'm having with my GTV V6. I bought it 6 months back, and it's been running beautifully until the last few weeks. However, I noticed recently that at high revs (5.5k+) there seems to be a loss of power. It's hard to describe the...
No, not the engine, but the battery.
Battery went dead over 2 days. Nothing was left switched on, which the ignition switch should take care of anyway! No indication of the generator not charging.
I did install a new radio over the weekend but it was switched off and shouldn't be able to drain...
Wonder if any of you guys can help?
My 2.0 16v pulls like a train all the way up to 4500rpm then falls flat on its face. I can get it to just over 5000 but it doesn't like it and then it won't go any further.
I have just replaced the plugs as the old ones were completely shot. Before I changed...
Changed the powersteering pipes on the weekend. One horrible job as one of the original pipes began to leak due to rust. These solid 7mm pipes are situated under the 146 rack, one short one long and fit into the rack with banjo fittings.
I tested the car lock to lock with new fluid and all...
Assuming that the engine were able to produce limitless power, how much would you reasonably expect the P4 drivetrain to put up with, without breaking every five minutes?
And which part do you think would be the first to go?
Any opinions welcome.
