  1. E Classe - might point to a return to the ultra robust Mercedes

    General Motoring Discussion
Hey, hello everybody peeps, Just back from three days in Belgium with work. Been there and back annually for about 15 years now, and I like the place a lot; friendly, hospitable people, slightly nuts driving and so much great food. I don't think i have ever had anything less than a delicious...
  2. Clutch hydraulics and volume, and bite point

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
So in August last year I had my gearbox swapped for a 6 speed, and had the 5 speed slave put on the 6 speed due to differences in volume cited by the mechanic. Also had a new GTA clutch fitted at the time. I drove the car and the clutch bite point felt the same, not too high, not too low...
  3. Clutch bearing squeal and low bite point

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Car is a 1.6TS with 146,000 miles. I've had the car since 56,000 miles and have changed none of the clutch parts, so it's safe to assume that all are still original. When the engine is cold and clutch pedal pressed down it sounds like a bearing is squealing. This noise goes after a few miles...
  4. Going to Geneva in person - is there any point?

    4C & 4C Spider
As per the thread title. Am I going to gain anything by going to Geneva in person? It looks viable for a day trip, flights should be reasonable. Cost of entry is very low. Assuming they are launching the car there, I should be able to see it, but I won't be able to drive it. Will I be able...
  5. 2004 156 2.4 JTDm Clutch Biting Point

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi All, I’ve recently got my grubby little hands on a 2004 156 Sportwagon 2.4 JTDm, whilst the car is in very good nick the clutch seems to engage very low down. It had a new clutch last year, so hopefully that is not the cause of this. I’ve found a few things on the net that might help...

    Alfa GTA
Hi all. As this seems to be a popular thread on here just thought I'd let all know that I have just bought a jack point cover front offside from Jordans Alfa at Hull painted red for me for £27.00 which considering Autolusso primed is £36 odd I thought was a good deal. :)

  8. Towing point?

    Alfa Giulietta
I need to tow my wife's Punto to the local garage. It's less than a mile on local roads but I need to know where to attach a tow rope on the Giulietta. Is there a hook / somewhere to screw one of those towing hooks on the back / underneath? I don't want to rip the bumper off within 5 yards !:tut:

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi guys, There's something strange going on with my clutch and I'd like some advise from you guys because I've been wondering what's causing it for a while. 1. Whenever I put the AC on, I notice that the clutch biting point is moving up. Does anybody else notice this? 2. Lately I notice that...

  12. 159 2.4 gearbox drain point location

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hello all, I'm planning to change my gearbox oil and replace with castrol universal 75/90. I've read the posts about making sure the filler hole plug can be undone first so will do that first. My question is that I found a post a while back which showed a picture of the drain plug and advised...

  14. Jacking point cover

    Alfa GTA
Did we reach a consensus on the best source for these? I heard a clatter on the Handforth bypass and looked in my side mirror to see my front drivers side one cartwheeling down the road behind me. Went back, but couldn't find it. Probably totalled anyway. Fortunately the car is due in for some...

  18. Just realised the point of 'Album Artist' in iTunes

    The Technology Section
For ages I've been irritated by the fact that if you're trying to listen to an album in its entirety & there are 'featured artists' (e.g. Bobby Womack feat. Lana Del Ray etc) they don't come up when playing on iPod or iPhone - each track with a different featured artist is filed in, effectively...
