Ok, I'm prepared to be mocked for posting this, I'm in the process of redoing the front suspension on my 82 gtv and thought I'd put new wheel nuts on, I've bought m12 x 1.25 but they just don't go on smoothly, it's like the thread is not quite correct , what am i missing ? Be kind, cheers.

Just started on a refurb on the front suspension (new shocks, springs, wishbones and drop links) and so far I’ve only managed to get the two bolts off the bottom of on of the struts using an angle grinder. I’ve still got another 30 assorted nuts and bolts to undo including the drop links and...

Anyone know where I can get the correct larger of the 2 nuts ? It's the one that takes a 13mm spanner. The smaller nuts are not an issue and seal up fine with standard 3/16 brake pipe but the larger nuts I managed to get from a local factors don't want to seal for some reason, guessing they are...

Hello there! I have an issue on my 06’ 159 3.2jts. I had the microswitch issue a few weeks ago, the one that is indicating the boot opening. The boot light was working spuriously at that time, and worked quite fine after resoldering the two wires. Then... it stopped to work. I searched in the...

Evening all, How easy is it to source new nuts & bolts for the front & rear suspension? Think I may have to cut mine apart as the rust is horrendous. Simon

Having tried to remove my corroded MAF brackets previously it resulted in spinning the captive bolt in the air box lid as the nuts were so corroded. Thinking I would have to cut them off, drill them out and fit new bolts as others on here had done previously there was nothing to lose making a...

Has anyone experienced rusty nuts as you open the fuel filler cap and underneath the bonnet in the engine bay on a Brera S 3.2V6? Also, as you open the bonnet, the top of the front grill that is exposed is also flaking off...anyone had similar issues? Luckily, ive not got any rusty...

My 156 spat out two wheel nuts following a tyre change a few months ago that I never checked the nuts myself afterwards. So I'm in need of a pair of bolts for a 16' multispoke alloy. Halfords don't stock them, 2 dealers in south Dublin neither and no tyre center I've called has them in either...

Please excuse the puns, but it actually is true! It has been getting worse for a few months now, at speed in 6th the metal knob lets out a distinctive rattle. If I push the stick slightly over to one side or another it will go. If I hold the metal part tightly it gets quieter, but doesn't stop...

you overtake??? I was running slightly late to catch the train this morning and was tipping along when I came up behind a Golf doing 70kmh (I may have had to slow down a little...) Sat behind him/her until we came to a short overtaking stretch and I went for it. I did give it the full boot (in...

Does anyone know what size the wheel bolts are, they look rusty on both cars and don't help with the aesthetics. On my pro race the bolt heads are larger I think 19 socket so the standard Gta tool is too small, are the 17 socket on the standard teledials.

Hello Finally got my GTV 3.2 today. What can I say.......it is brilliant. Its going into Autolusso on Tuesday for its 'midlife crisis' but it wasn't until I got home that I realised I forgot to pick up the key for the lockable wheel nuts from the guy selling it me.......he's going to send...

Hi all, Just bought my second 1997 phase 1 gtv lusso (as other was crashed into..!!) however didn't check and no locking wheel nut kit key was included so can't start messing with the brakes!! Does anyone know the correct key code for the nut (number written on the red box normally in the...

This may sound like a really silly thread, but I can't get a couple of my wheels off. My car was serviced at a local garage a month or so ago, and think they may of took the wheels off to check the brakes (?). Anyway, they're not shifting. WD40 left overnight, but nothing. The whole car moves...

re: Nuts won't budge The nuts and bolts securing the front pipe to the exhaust manifold wont budge. So far I have heated them, covered them liberally with WD40, whacked them with a hammer in a controlled way you understand but they don't wanna budge. They also seem to be an obscure size, not...
