Just got a brand new set of Alfa rods delivered for my 2.8 v6 12v Busso ongoing project (no car for it yet of course!) so I couldn't resist unwrapping one of the Wossner pistons just to see how it looked on a brand new rod:
You can easily see how they increase the compression, look...
“The automaker reported its first loss in a decade in the main automotive division in the three month through March, after booking a 1.4 billion euro provision ($1.6 billion) for potential European Union fines over collusion. Even excluding this charge, the unit's return on sales dropped to the...
Does making alterations void the warranty ?
I've just asked my local garage whether they could fit some eibach lowering springs for me and he's told me that it would fully void the manufacturers warranty
Is this true ?
My beloved Alfa GT JTDm has decided to give me some headache today. When attempting to start it, the starter motor did not turn at all and a strange rather powerdul humming noise could be heard. The lights on the dashboard were on, the locking and AC was working ok but the starter...
I have been reading a few things on here about some people experiencing similar things. My beloved QV has started making a horrible whine when reversing onto the drive, its really loud! Sounds like Chewbacca in pain, probably the best way to describe the sound. My drive does have a...
My car is a 2010 year , air con works great cold / hot.
recently it developed a problem, everytime I brake, or take a tight turn,
the air con makes a squeaking / tweeting noise. sounds exactly like a bird tweeting.
the noise is consistent with the braking. If I let off the brakes...
So, good morning!
This will be a bit unusual question, but hey.
So, as the title says, I am trying to make my 156 SP1 as high as possible. At this point, I am not able to buy completely new shocks, so I was thinking of just swapping springs from something a bit higher or heavier.
I know that...

I decided not to buy special tool EN46111 and chose to make one instead. I could have used the crankshaft bolt but this was more fun.
For the interested this is how I did mine.
1. slightly enlarge the hole in a discarded harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley so that it slides easily on/off the...
My name is Idara, I live in Ireland, and I am a soon-to-be very proud owner of a Giulietta, which has been my dream car from the first moment I saw it on the local Alfa Romeo website almost five years ago. It has been at me like an itch, but I am glad that I can finally enjoy it.
It seems to be related to engine and/or ambient temperature, because I haven't really noticed until things have gotten more chilly!
Noise 1: There's a squeaking at startup/when the engine is cold. Maybe squeaking is a bit harsh, much more like a chirping sound. I'm guessing it's the alternator...
After working perfectly, my phone no longer works hands free.
My windows phone searches Bluetooth for blue and me, connects ( on phone) but won't connect to the car.
Just shows up on the phone handset as disconnected. . . I've tried re-pairing etc, but nothing ! It doesn't show the Bluetooth...
It's been a while since I posted but I have been lurking... My Spider has been in the garage since September as I've had a lot going on with work and home so using the other two motors.
Anyway, in a week or so, the Jag will be moving on to its new owner and the Spider will become...
Do I have a problem? The brake booster on my '74 Spider has started making a light, metallic clicking/banging noise. I can't hear the noise in the engine compartment when I raise the hood, but I can hear it when sitting behind the steering wheel and I can feel it very lightly in the brake...
Hi guys has anyone had this Where the trim that is attached to the tailpipe on the back box becomes loose and causes a raspy rattly sound at arpund 1500rpm?
If so how did you cure it? Is it a case of a new back box or maybe just a different trim? Is is possible to weld it securley maybe?
I have a dash cam in the car. Its wired in behind the dash, connected to the earth and + of the cigarette lighter.
That was it turns on when the car does, and turns off when the car does.
Smart, except I would like for it to record for a minute or so after I have turned the car off.
Turbo on the 3.0 v6 is making more heat then i like , but i think it should be sorted after fitting 2 new items . fingers crossed.
