  1. Replaced the MAF, how long for the ECU to re-learn?

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Hi As above really, changed it over, now it runs quite a lot better. But, the injector light comes on when I change gear, and it almost stalls on idle. How long does the ecu take to relearn the maf? Do i need to disconnect the battery for a bit? Cheers chaps! :) WMT

    General Alfa Discussion
Just out of curiosity, (and im in no way suggesting that anybody play cambelt roulette:eek::) ) whats the most mileage anybody has gotten out of their timing belt before bottling it and running to get it done??

    Introduce Yourself
Have owned 156 for 8 years. Good car in that time and still is. Except and there's always exceptions! cam belt failure - v. expensive. Other than that in the past few weeks failed emissions test big time. Replacement lambda valve? fitted passed emissions with flying colours and runs like a...

  7. How long to charge a battery?

    General Alfa Discussion
Heya y'all. Currently charging my battery for the 147 as the indicator showed that I didn't have enought electrolyte in it. So I topped up the electrolyte and it's been on charge 24 hrs to date and the charge indicator on the battery is not showing green yet (i.e. adequately charged), it's...
  8. bulbs don't last long

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
The bulbs for the various lamps in my 2000 156 seem to last 5 mins before blowing - I've replaced the various headlamp bulbs several times in the last year. Not a month goes by without something blowing (I should start a 156 headlamp bulb replacement blog). Could there be something causing this...
  9. Before I make a long journey...

    Alfa 33, Sud & Sprint
Hello again - sorry to keep bombarding you guys with questions, but I have another query. Now that my carbs are clear of crud and everything is running good, I've noticed that if the engine is under load (say climbing a steep hill at slow speeds, maybe with a bit of clutch-slipping) or just a...

  12. Alfa newbie, possible owner with long ?

    General Alfa Discussion
Hello, I have been offered a 1991 Alfa 164 by my neighbor for 800 bucks. Mechanically it seems in good shape other than sitting for a while (which is bad I know). It has a broken headlamp and some front bumper/quarter panel damage (nothing major or structural). I don't know anything about...
  13. How long should it take to warm up your engine?

Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
Hi Does the 147 have something to warm up the engine from a cold start? I swear my engine used to warm up quicker... it seems to take much longer now. Once its warm it sticks at 90 deg C, but just seems to take longer to get there. Any ideas what it could be? Or was it me just having more fun...
