  1. Alfa 75, RZ, SZ
My 75 is now back on the road. Bought end of last year but needed a few jobs doing. New propshaft donuts, new radiator, new CSC exhaust (thanks to Uncle Munkle). Front and rear bumpers off, painted and refitted. Still a few little bits to do but running well. Driving down to Le Mans next month...
  2. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
HI guys Just purchased a 1999 3.0 GTV Lusso in Silver with a gorgeous red leather interior. 40k miles on the speedo but had a change at 19k so 59k mileage. Shes very original and has a folder full of history, has had 2 timing belt changes that i can see one was a few thousand miles ago, but it...

So, continuing on from my to do list. All items bought, booked in for cam belt etc, however, my lower cambelt cover has a big chunk out of it. Question is, will any TS cover fit? I've trawled the breakers on eBay and told I can get one posted for£30-is that a fair price? Thanks, J
  4. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Hi guys So today I'm taking the head off my 2000 2.0 TS GTV to replace the head gasket to fix a weeping external oil leak and my slowly declining coolant levels. Leaving the belts as they're only a few months and 4k old. Is there anything else I should be doing or replacing while the head is off?

  6. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
Finished off the last of my service jobs today. Went to Autolusso in Penrith yesterday and bought some gear oil. Filler plug came out easily enough with the tool in the picture. The oil that came out was red, clear and clean with no signs of metallic particles. Used a funnel and pipe to fill...

I've decided to give up my well paid secure job as an ICT teacher/Senior Director and try something different. Going with the old adage of if you do a job you love etc I want to do something to do with classic and sports cars. The slight barrier I have is that other than my home tinkering I...

  9. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
Hi everyone, I'm new here and liking the forum! I just made an impulse buy on a 2007 Brera, 2.4 JTD. She has high mileage but runs and drives sweet. It came with service history like War and Peace so I know she's been looked after. It had the cold start coughing and spluttering for 5-10...
  10. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Shouldn't take me long, replace an inner CV Boot on the drivers side. So far I've sheared the anti-roll bar drop link, and the pinch bolt from the ball joint, and now the hub nut has rounded off. So tomorrow remove the caliper and disc and carefully grind the hub nut off, then hopefully I can...

  12. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi I just did a deal for a 98 156 v6. The car is reasonably clean with only 1 small dent on the body work but some fade in places. Overall it is tidy but typical of many red cars, ie the bumper and bonnet will need a respray. Cosmetically it looked good. It has been parked up for most of the...
  13. General Motoring Discussion
I'm wondering what a reasonable time to wait for my car to be repaired at a body shop. There is damage to the door and rear quarter on my GT caused by my neighbour forgetting to put their handbrake on. The garage assessed the car last Monday and had not heard from them since so I phoned them up...

Following my last service at NJS, I have a few jobs to attend to and could so with some advice on how best to tackle. I will be doing myself, as I don't want to spend any more ££££! 1. Inner wheel arch liners. Both are broken and need replacing. Where best to get from? 2. Handbrake cable...

I got the car last week and despite of the car being in very good condition, there were a few things it needed doing. # Replaced the multifunction buttons as the trim was scratched and one button broken. # Restore the rusty wheel nuts with the help of some hammerite paint. # Updated Blue&Me to...
