I've seen so many threats about the right battery for a 159 I thought I'd add my 2 penneth. Sorry I ordered an Exide EA900 Premium 115 TE battery from Tayna on Monday at a delivered cost of £71.29 all in. Impressively it turned up on Wednesday morning, perfectly packaged, complete with clear...

  3. The Classic Alfa Romeos
This is partly a game, and partly not. (There's a slim chance I might have a step front sprint gt race car coming my way this winter. It's a bit shabby looking, but in good mechanical condition. And one thing I'm toying with is a new paint job. I'm just a bit stuck for ideas though.) If you...
  4. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi everyone Looking for some opinions/advice please. I have the CF2 manifold with EQ down pipes and standard back box. I did have a wizard but I found it too boomy at high revs and motor way driving and drowned the engine noise out completely . So I sold it and got a standard box back fitted...

What would the ideal voltage be for a car at rest. I recently charged it up over a couple of days and used it for a short run. The next morning the voltage showed as 12.3V. This seemed a bit low. I am thinking that a new battery might be due as this one ( a Yuasa) has a few years on it. Doug

Albert looms in derby has a 156 facelift in, no damage to car, they are generally quite cheap, 20quid headlight, 20 quid bumper etc - could this be ideal for a facelift upgrade for someone?

  10. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Alasd it is time to part - I have a R reg alfa gtv twin spark. Locals didnt think I should have a nice car and keyed the panels and pinched badges. However if you are good with a bit of wet n dry can be restored to former glory. This car is very reliable - had her 4 years and never let me...
  11. Alfa GTA
Hi - quite often get all sorts of warnings when first turning car on... immediately disappear, but think the battery is pretty knackered. It said low battery warning this morning for the first time.. normally just all the sidelights and parking lights etc 'fail' briefly and then it's ok. So, a...
  12. Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
I am looking into machining some CF2 323.01 pistons from a 2.0ts that I have to the same compression height as the CF3 323.10 pistons. I basically need to lower the cr and 323.10 pistons with the older thick cylinder head gasket does this. I only need the piston to confirm some measurements...
  13. Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
Just had a new engine fitted in my GT after a bottom end failure (overheated crankshaft, bearing shelves melted). It's a 2.0JTS. Old engine had only done 51k miles. I've noticed that the new engine doesn't seem to get as hot as the old one. Whereas the old one was almost always reading 90 on the...

Hi, hope it's ok to draw attention to the wheels that I'm selling on ebay here? http://shop.ebay.co.uk/devilish_uk/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340 They're the standard 17" multispokes from a 159, and I've advertised them as four separate listings because as the tyres are quite...
  17. Alfa MiTo
Following on from another thread. I absolutely love my Mito Cloverleaf, but I am still undecided about the dark alloys. It's just that against the Tornado blue, they look dirty and the contrast is never enough for the car to look clean. I think that a brighter silver would be one hell of a lot...
  18. Alfa 164 & 166
on autotrader..... 2003 ALFA ROMEO 166 3.0 V6 24v Super Lusso Slightly overpriced though, it might have all the options but still with that mileage i would have thought 2000/2500 at the best
