I've been losing a small amount of cooling fluid recently. About a cupful per month. No obvious leak signs.
So today I got serious and got the under bonnet area really warm and then a 10 minute hot soak. When I opened the bonnet I heard a slight hiss from the Coolant Header tank and managed to...
Coolant Header Tank Clean Stain removal - any tips please?
My one has split so I'm looking at getting one from a Breakers - Any tips for cleaning or getting rid of the unsightly stains please?
So I'm replacing the Header Rail along with the soft top. Sadly the original fittings to the frame cannot be reused. Has anyone been able to source these - they are unavailable at the regular suppliers such as ClassicAlfa. Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello Everyone! Recently I purchased a 159 sportwagon, to change up my tired 156 jts. Sadly, there isn't a usb port in the glovebox. My question is, if I get a blue and me ecu and a USB header, can I just plug it all in to the default CD player? Sadly it's not the mp3 player one, just the basic...
Just to let everyone know .... EB Spares have just taken a small delivery of header tanks for the GTV V6.
They are expecting another larger consignment towards the end of February. the tanks are new but supplied without the cap which they can supply additionally if required. I've just got my...
I purchased a 147 1.6 t spark on a 02 plate.
All was going well, until I noticed I needed coolant.
I put in the recommended coolant and again all was going well.
1 week later, I checked the coolant in the header tank and it appears to be oil now.
It was still running fine and no overheating and...
only a short question.
As the catalytic converter on my Alfa 2.0 JTS seems to be damaged, I am thinking about retrofitting an header of an old twin spark engine with one main cat below the car.
motor faults because of the post cat lambdas shouldn't be a problem which cant be solved.
Noticed a tiny amount of coolant under the header tank today but couldn't feel any dampness anywhere, however on closer inspection there appears to be a few small fractures in the plastic to the top of the tank? Anyone suffered this?
Hi all, noticed the other day that there was a hissing coming from the header/coolant tank filler. Surely it's supposed to be sealed, the engine wasn't that hot. The 'lid' is a metal gold coloured lid with fiat written on it. Is this the right one? The car doesn't heat up that well unless sat in...
Yesterday I noticed some deposit of oil and water below my wonderful Alfa....
On opening the bonnet the expansion tank was full of a grey substance and on further investigation...it was OIL...yes oil in the water. I checked the dipstick and behold she was was dry...
I then topped up...
hi,im going to be changeing my thermostat soon and changeing the antifreeze ,the header tank bottle is grim and i want to replace it , i know its a trip to a alfa dealer but does anyone know where i can buy one online, cheers for any help
As mentioned in a previous post the air filter bracket was loose on my new buy
and has worn an alarming groove in the hose that links the bottom of the
resevoir/header tank to what I think is the thermostat (note to self - must buy a manual from somewhere..).
I looked on EB spares but...
Hi guys , test drive a 2004 jts 156 tonight , guy said that it may need a water top up every 1000mls or so , mmm, checked oil , nice and oily , not clean , but old enough to think its not got water in it , header tank has got pinkish colour coolant in it , as the guy revved the jts up, water was...
Right here goes my first ever question/post EVER on one of these things. Yup I'm 20 and feel behind with the times.
Anyways what I'm getting at is, I've bought a new header tank and I'm just wondering when I do undo everything and fit the it in but before I plug everything up will I need to...
