  1. What's the worst that could happen?

    The Classic Alfa Romeos
Have just insured my 21 year old daughter on my S4 Spider. She's just zooooomed off into the distance. What's the worst that could happen?
  2. I suppose it had to happen eventually.......

    General Motoring Discussion
......but I just wish that it had been a bit later rather than sooner,. I suppose that'll teach me to run until the light came on, then fill it with the good stuff,.
  3. I knew it would happen sooner or later...

    Alfa Giulietta
I locked my keys in the boot. And wouldve guessed the windows are sledge hammer proof! Brilliant. So the RAC arrive, 'sorry pal, cant help you the cars deadlocked cant open the door even if we broke the window' Not really knowing enough i accepted that and he drove off (laughing probably), i...

    ... I couldn't help myself! :p
  6. It had to happen eventually...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Well after all the years of owning the GTA as well as a 147 1.6 previously, I've finally locked the key in the boot with the car still alarmed. This wouldn't normally be a major problem if I could find the spare key but after spending a whole day looking for it, I've accepted that it does...
  7. Whats going to happen...

    Alfa 164 & 166
...if I take the 164 to a track day? I have been invited to take the 12v for a thrash on a circuit in a few weeks, I expect it to put some strain on the cooling system and will probably boil the brake fluid...what else will I need to look out for?
  8. Q2 diffs: It had to happen sooner or later..

    General Alfa Discussion
Firstly the good news - this thread isn't about the first failure  ..Its about Alfa again massively bumping up the price of the Q2 diff. As of 1st December retail is now £504 + VAT for the diff alone. Add all the other bits, bearings, O-rings, driveshaft seals, gear oil, shims...
  9. Why did this happen...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi all! just joined this forum.. been reading for a while and gotten some great info but this is my first post! I bought a very cheap Alfa 156 Sportwagon 2.0TS.. sounds good so far except that last week it overheated and broke down, the RAC man was certain the head had blown but after having a...
  10. WARNING!!! Don't neglect your cambelt or this could happen.

Engines (TS, JTS, JTD & V6)
A while ago I picked up a non running 156 to use for spares. I assumed it had the usual cambelt fail, but when I went to collect it I found the cambelt was still in one piece. I asked the seller if he'd ever had the cambelt replaced and he told me that he knew it needed doing but that he...
  11. Bound to happen 2: the gt episode

    South Africa
Just when things are coming together, I park the money-eater in the garage, get out and close the door. or at least that's what I wanted to do. The metallic clunk of a misaligned door as it hit the door jamb signalled take fifty in the quest for a perfectly functioning Alfa. Turns out my top...

  14. The "Silly grin", is it just us or does it happen to owners from other marques too?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
The "Silly grin", is it just us or does it happen to owners from other marques too? Dear gentlemen, I'm just wondering if it's just me with the contagious "Alfa silly grin" or do owners of other marques have this kind of "sporting spirit" too? In the early 90's, I tested to purchase: - BMW...
  15. It could only happen to me

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
It was finally confirmed today that I am indeed the most unlucky person ever to have lived. Despite the extreme rarity of a diesel engine blowing a head gasket (two AA mechanics and an engineer from the Alfa dealership at Chelmsford have never seen one), mine has gone. My 147 has 77,000 miles...
  16. V6 Maf-replacement to happen today

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
I have had a rough idle at cold start and a definitive loss of power at over 5200rpm that feels like someone is holding me back- New plugs fitted [old ones were not platinum] and it made no noticible difference. New MAF arriving today so will fit -test drive and report here tonight my time...
  17. what would happen if a wrong cam belt kit was fitted?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi folks, I bought a used alfa romeo 147 a month ago, a pretty 2003 plate in black (1.6 tourismo). It has 65000 miles on it with a full service history except the last service at 65,000. As the engine was sounding like a diesel when i bought it I booked it in for the 65000 service and was...
  18. What would happen if...

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
OK does anyone else with B&M find themselves pressing the "Start/Stop" button to kill a call? Let me explain... I have on a number of occasions almost pressed the start stop when driving to kill a call, I always use the steering wheel button to hang up a call, I think I must...
  19. Should this happen on a GTV V6

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I was driving my car today and noticed that when i put the temp below 21 the AC light turned itself on. Ive never noticed this before so was wondering if the car is meant to do this or is it another Alfa issue. lol
  20. The Brera: best thing ever to happen to the GT?

    Poll Room
I've been thinking of late: I wonder how many people slope into their Alfa showroom with the intention of buying a Brera ....... and end up with a GT! So, is the Brera the best thing to have happened to the GT?
