  1. Superior handling sacrificed in MY2020?

    Alfa Giulia
I am closely monitoring the news about the MY2020 Giulia as I'm about to buy a new Giulia Q as soon as it will be available. So far, I'm satisfied with the infos revealed, however today I found something that really scared me. I was reading the Quattroruote article with google translate and the...
  2. 147 handling tip

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Get your wheel alignment checked, it’s not expensive and can make a huge difference. The 147 has concentric Adjusters on rear so all four wheels can be adjusted. If you notice odd tyre wear get em check ASAP.
  3. GT Handling

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Folks. Apologies if this thread covers stuff already mentioned elsewhere - I've read most of the GT handling threads but I have a particular 'problem' :) Two Alfas ago I had a 55 plate 156 SW 1.9TD with 150K miles on it. I was in love with her. She eventually died and went to Alfa heaven :(...
  4. Alfa 156 handling...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hello everyone, Alfa 156 was known for its great handling, well that is what I thought to be the fact, however I find people often writing about suspension upgrades because Alfa setup was not very good. Could someone please explain what was actually the problem with 156 setup? My first Alfa...

  6. 105 series handling

    General Alfa Discussion
I took my 1977 Spider on a Pistonheads run yesterday morning. I was driving with Toyota MR2s, Westfields, Lotus 7s, Vauxhall VRX etc (it was a light rwd car club). I must say that I expected the Spider to get into a tangle if pushed too hard trying to keep up, what with it's 40+ year old...
  7. Brera handling

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
A quick thanks to those who mentioned Peter Cambridge (PCA Dynamics) in connection with general handling problems. I had a distinct feeling of 'catching an edge' as a skier would say - a tendency to wander a bit, a lack of confidence when wanting to push it a bit, and an odd inability to nail a...
  8. Spider handling....

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I’m just getting to grips with the Spider and the differences with the GTV. Having read previously that the lack of a roof makes the Spider less precise than the GTV in the handling stakes. But if anything the Spider feels tighter and more positive in the wet and dry. Both cars are a similar age...
  9. Best Rims For Good Handling

    Alfa GTA
Thinking of getting some OZ Racing Allegeritta HLT titanium wheels for the GTA as they are the lightest ones I can find without going to crazy expensive carbon jobbies. Anyone here had any experience with these or know any better ones?

  12. 18" or 19"? comfort and handling not style.

    Alfa Giulietta
Hello all I have a question for anyone who has gone from 18" wheels on there G to 19". What differences other than looking great ( dont start fighting now, teledials are the only correct wheels for an alfa, fact :wink_org: ) did you experience? I'm considering putting some 5 hole 19" Brera...
  13. Suspension and Handling

    Alfa MiTo
I bought my first Alfa about 2 months ago. It's a Mito 1.4TB Veloce T (155bhp) on a UK 09 plate and it had once previous owner, and has done about 137k miles. The thing is I am not sure about the suspension, although I've taken it my local reputable garage and they say it is fine, so I wonder...
  14. Mito poor handling, bumps, wet.

    Alfa MiTo
Good evening everyone! Long time lurker, but I don't get round to posting very often. I'm hoping you guys can give me some advice. :) I have a bit of a long story, but I think the background info may be useful. I've had my 2010 1.3 jtdm for two years now. In January, I came off the road in...
  15. GTV 916 3.0l handling setup

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I know there are many threads on handling and set up, but my question is slightly different. I have the 916 3.0l. It has Koni yellow sport shocks all round, PowerFlexed rear complete, Q2, Alfaholics handling kit and sticky tyres. Yesterday I made two adjustments that (unless I am going...
  16. GT3.2 skittish handling???

    Alfa GTA
Hi all. My GT feels a bit lairy recently. Steering feels really light and when I go for an overtake, hitting the white lines under power seems to really upset the car. It never used to do this. I've replaced all front wishbones and drop links, all 4 tyres are good and I've had a 4 wheel...
  17. Wayward handling

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi I recently bought a blue 156 1.8 tspark for in fairness very small money ,so while the body and interior is excellent and has good teledial alloys the mechanicals are in need of tlc, for the price I just jumped in and was thankful it would drive me home , I parked it up with new coolent ...
  18. 07 Brera 2.2 petrol

    Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone :-) After having a Gtv 2L for over 6 years I decided to update to a Brera. My first thoughts about the differences are largely positive. It's more civilised, more powerful & everything works! I'm very happy with the sexy Guigiaro styling..,,I do miss the brutality, noise and...
  19. alfa gtv 3.0 v6 odd handling question.

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Firstly as a newby I'd like to say hello. I'm and be audi man first and foremost but have dabbled in alfas in the past owning a couple of 145's. over the past month I have been helping a friend revive his low miles gtv v6. 20. Handling

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
My 147 1.9JTD 2005 has strange handling issues. It has two brand new front tyres, Pirellis P7, new TRE both sides. The rear suspension has had nearly a whole new rear suspension apart from springs/ shocks. However even with all this done the rear end always feels like its wanting to come around...
