As the topic suggests, I'd like to get rid of my slightly brown fluid and replace it with lovely fresh, red nectar.
Does anyone happen to know the best way to flush the system? More specifically, where's the easiest spot to drain the fluid from?
Thanks for any input as usual :)
I have been under a few old car bonnets in my life but never seen a shared clutch and brake reservoir. Will post a picture.
This is on a 1986 Alfetta GTV 2.0
Clutch is poor in operation so will look for a separate reservoir and bleed it...
Anybody seen / heard of this solution?
Has anyone changed power steering fluid from red type to green (correct spec Tutela GI/R) and had their rack fail soon after, especially cars with higher mileage? I'm contemplating changing my fluid to GI/R. Car has 114000 miles on it and the steering can feel ever so slightly juddery when...
Before i bought my 1.9jtdm sw lusso the steering fluid reservoir was replaced and the fluid supposedly changed to Tutela g1/r at an alfa dealership 3 years ago, all itemised on the receipt. When i checked the level in the reservoir i noticed that the fluid was actually red, rather than the green...
The brake fluid low warning light/beep came on once a few weeks ago. Now, it comes on at every tight bend or roundabout. I bought brake fluid, opened reservoir to top up but.. It was full to brim. Anybody else had similar or can help? It's a GT derv.
In possibly related, I noticed the...
Does anyone know the correct bleed procedure for a 1.9jtdm. I have located the slave bleed screw on the clutch. I have full version of MES for running the ABS module. Im assuming it will have to be done starting from the back brakes?
So yet another bolt-on solution to try and fix
the problem with DERVs ( they are filthy)
by injection DEF (stored in a separate reservoir
than fuel) into the exhaust.
Looks like refilling the reservoir is going to be costly.
Ironic seeing as thought it is almost literally a solution of...
heard a bit of a whimper from my steering the other day after initial start up. nothing major but the car is almost 5 so im thinking its probably due.
also i know its meant to be green, but what is the fluid called?
Driving my 2006 Brera 3.2 Q4 to work yesteday and noticed a very loud noise when steering, checked the power steering fluid and it was virtually empty! Discovered where the leak is coming from and took a few pictures. Does anyway know the best fix for this or what it is? Have heard so many...
I have a 2.0 Giulietta - which I (mostly!) love apart from the usual squeaks, rattles (but that's another thread!). Especially on a nice quiet country lane with the 'D' switch engaged - what a hoot! :) :D
But....I'm having an on-going problem with horrible smelling screen wash fluid - a kind of...
I did my cam belt and water pump today all went well but I've lost a small amount of steering fluid, I wanted to pop down halfords and get some. However reading some of the threads on here what would you recommend I get or should I get recommended Make.
Alfa Romeo Power steering oil...
So I am very new here and this is my first post.
My wife purchased an 04 2.0 147 selespeed about 3 weeks ago. She fell in love with the car the minute she saw it and thinks it's a phenomenal drive.
So it had a few issues which we have so far ironed out.
Issue 1 - kept blowing...
Just to let you guys know - the standard triple QX fully synth green power steering fluid sold at euro car parts has the same viscosity as tutela Green. In the branch we phoned up the head office to pull out the data sheets for it. Much easier to get hold of.
My car is a 2006 156 JTS Selespeed.
This Morning i drove to get new oils etc knowing i likely had none due to the leak i found.
It took me 2.5 hours to get home (15Klms)
During gear change it will go into Neutral. Cant get it back into gear. I have to pull over, turn the car off, wait 10...
