was -156 floorpan extra plate question - now refurb progress Hi Folks, Following on from this thread (3 years ago!) the old car has been lying for the last 6 months with no MOT due to holes in the floorpan. Ive stripped it all out and rust in the usual places (drain holes, driver side sill...

My cute little 156 is in great condition overall - well for the most part. It has wintered in a barn, I've just serviced it, with new front brakes, new cam belt plus tensioner, roller etc and a refurbed variator. I then found some rust in the OSF floorpan where the floor meets the inner sill...

Hi all, There must be a few of you out there on your second floorpan by now! Autolusso list the part for £133 which seems pretty cheap but I suspect it will take significantly longer to fit than a patch, which is my other option. I have 2 holes on the nearside. My concern would be that once you...

I've been getting the 156 sele ready for a MOT and some associated fettling. I decided to apply a layer of bilt hamber hydro 80 to the pan, front crossmember and sills. Everything went according to plan and I finished it off with a nice layer of QD90. The only thing was, that when i was...

Had my 156 on a lift today and was suprised at the amount of surface rust was on the floorpan(about 1/3 rd), the underseal Alfa put on these cars must be applied very thinly. Its not a problem at the moment and just needs the surface rust removing and underseal re applied, never really seen a car...

Hi. I got a Alfa red 156 Selespeed 2000 seriously attacked by rust. A local garage told me it was pretty done, and in his case it seemed finished. Reading about it here it seems alot of people have fixed theyre cars up, despite having pretty bad rust problems. The car look mint on the outside...

Ive read that the 147 gt and 156 have similar floorpans. Is this the case as im wondering if a 147 gta exhaust would fit my gt, obviously I know where the down pipes meet and attach will need some work but thats no problem. Cheers kris

  12. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Previous to my buying this 147, it had been jacked up on the chassis rails causing the floorpan on the drivers side to be pushed up so now on the inside there is a small "hill" at the front of my seat. I hope to be replacing my seats in the next coming weeks, while i am doing this i am thinking...

Been doing some work on sorting out the underseal on my 147 and noticed that I might be missing some rubber grommets?? Just inboard of the rear jacking point there is a plastic cover with a hole in it - through the hole I can see the floorpan and there is a big 2cm diameter hole that looks as...
  14. Alfa 145 & 146
Hey all! After my recent head gasket and blown heater matrix adventures, I'm now just about to sort out the rear floorpan after stripping the whole interior and all the underlay/soundproofing in soggy bits! Just after some advice/opinions really... These drainage holes at the back (where the...

My 2000 145 has been for its MOT today and it passed :) When I went to pick it up though the guy in the garage said I might want to look at the underside of the car. He got it up on the ramps and it looks pretty bad underneath, the floorpan is rusting in several areas and the front subframe is...
  16. Alfa 155
I fear I may be banished from the forum for asking this..... I think I once read that the 155 and the Fiat Tempra share the same floorpan, is this correct, and if so will a Tempra towbar fit my 155.
