  1. Start up blue smoke fixed

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Put some diesel aditive in it, and with 15L passed through it cured it, also make sure you wait for the press brake pedal message before starting the car. Don t forget to check the sparks and i ve heard of longer sparls that start the car better and this car needs a 85amps+ battery.
  2. Rattle sound interior, not wiper plastics FIXED

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider

    Car Detailing

  4. Electric aerial fixed

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
My electric aerial didn't move, although a relay made a click sound. I figured out how to remove it from the car (it has a ball-shaped nut screwed on to the aluminium outer aerial mast - pop it upward out of the grommet and then use suitable grips to unscrew, hopefully without too much damage)...
  5. air intake pipe fixed or moveable?

    Alfa Giulietta
Just been surveying the underbonnet area of my 1.6 JTDm and I notice that the air intake pipe that attaches to the turbocharger from the air filter housing slides along the flange on the turbocharger easily in spite of it having a tight metal clip around it. So the question is should it be a...
  6. It's gone off to be fixed...

    Alfa Giulietta
Well after a couple of weeks of ownership I have a short snagging list for the dealer to take a look at: 1. Steering wheel crooked following four wheel alignment done before delivery 2. Rear wiper not working 3. Gear change very lumpy - notable 1st and 4th 4. Sat nav unit rattles terribly...
  7. press stud on gear gaiter come away, where to get it fixed?

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider

  8. How is the driver's door mirror fixed on GTVs?

    The Classic Alfa Romeos
Pretty much as the question says. Is there something behind the door card that the screws screw into? Or is it just a case of taking the door card off and using nuts and bolts? The reason I ask is that I took the door mirror off to tighten it up (as it was flopping around) and now only one of...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi I thought I'd share my egr fix. Hopefully will help someone in future. I'm working on my 2005 147 jtdm 150bhp model. Tools required (after engine case removed) 1/4 inch ratchet with an 8 mm socket and 10mm long and short socket. Torque (star) driver. Flat small screw driver for...
  10. Gearbox Oil Changed - Fixed 1 Problem Caused Another?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Since we bought my wifes car every now and again the last 5 mm of the throw into 2nd gear has been difficult. The car is 2011 with just 45k miles on it. So having done some research Ive just had the gearbox oil changed to Redline MT90 - the result being the occasion difficulty into 2nd has been...
  11. Passenger Seat Rattle....Possibly Fixed

    Alfa Giulietta
If you can hear a rattle from the passenger seat, I think I may have found the source (and a fix). Its taken ages as first I thought it was the runners (still may be) and then the spring underneath. But I thought I would have another look today and it seems to be the plastic cover hitting the...
  12. Alfa hood "not quite" fixed

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Hi guys, the dealer took $2000 off the price of the car because the automatic hood would not work. the car in question is a 1998 Spider, high kms but with the engine already replaced. This is the problem... the scenario is a car with the roof stowed. I turn the key to start, the LED comes on...
  13. how difficult is it to fix/get fixed squashed sills?

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Like the heading says my Spider has small dents/pushed in sills just behind the passenger side from wheel and just in front of the drivers side back wheel. This was no doubt caused by a careless Speedy/super quick attendant. Mine are very lightly damaged compared to some I've seen so my...
  14. Head gasket leak fixed - coolant help

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hey guys, been observing here for ages since I got my 147 last year. Recently had a failed sniff test on my coolant system. Head gasket and such has been replaced and my mechanic did a flush. Since then a day later one of the pipes burst and all the coolant leaked out and engine started steaming...
  15. Air bag light fixed, but another problem discovered.

    General Motoring Discussion
The local Evans Halshaw sorted the light on the missus car, which was down to that connector again under the drivers seat, as expected! They also did a thorough 39 point winter and safety check.:): All 38 boxes were given the green light, just one safety issue, a screw was found...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
I believe i have read all the threads in the forum regarding loss of power on low revs, however 99% of theese cases is EGR problems probably, I saw a couple more guys that can't figure out the problem as well. My 03 156 1.9jtd 16v (103kw) has no starting power at all, if i have the AC working +...

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
I have an Alfa 147 2006 with 66k mileage and when I go over bumps I get a squeak from one of the left wheels. My mechanic said it looked like the anti roll bar links and this other circular thing that has something to do with the wheel but I can't remember what it is called, I think it was the...
