Hi all, I've been enjoying my Alfa GT for the last few months, but I think it's a bit sluggish till it reaches 2000rpm. I'll be hooking it up to a diagnostic tool to check how the MAF is behaving in the next few days... I was also wondering if anyone can share the location of the VNT...

Well, I was driving and was set upon by a fiesta ST(18 plate) and a Golf Gti(19 plate). Very long, straight section of an A road. I had no expectations, only curiosity. 6000 rpm in 3rd and then in 4th with foot planted. You know roughly where the speedo is by that. The GTI came by as if I...
  3. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
Hi, I recently just bought an alfa romeo brera, whereas the car I have been driving on the regular is an alfa romeo Mito. I was wondering what the clutch feel on the brera is like? As I find mine to be quite sticky, ie. I find it hard to feel the biting point, often it is either the clutch is...
  4. Alfa Giulietta
Hello, I am hoping to get some thoughts on whats perhaps a unique issue. Recently I purchased a 2012 Giulietta that has the QV (or sports pack) add on from the dealer, as part of this it has the red Brembo brakes (same as whats on the QV?). I have been finding the brakes quite jerky at low...

But am I right? Is this rare and desirable enough to justify that price? Is the justification that you're getting M5 performance when you couldn't get an M5 estate of that age...

Morning all Over the last few mornings I've noticed something a bit strange with G Also, This only seems to happen in the morning after the cars been sat overnight. When I drive away and try to come to a stop at the bottom of the small hill on my road the brakes feel really wooden and not much...

What should the clutch pedal feel be on a Brera 2.4? Comparing this to my Honda, it's like chalk n cheese - The honda clutch is far stiffer to the point you would question if there is a problem with the Brera? This presents no other issue but it's a very strange feeling when you jump from one to...
  8. Alfa 164 & 166
Posting a comment earlier on the 159, Brera etc forum, couldn't help noticing that it'd had 21 threads started and/or commented on in the previous 24 hrs. Whereas here, it was 3. A sign of the times, I guess - a world in which 166s, and even more so 164s, are fading away. <sigh>
  9. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
Hi all, Noticed recently that my car feels so much better to drive when it's doing a dpf regen. It picks up quicker, has more low down torque and just generally feels smoother. What is it that changes when it does a regen other than dumping fuel in on the exhaust stroke? (can't see that making...

Should the brakes on the Cloverleaf feel nice and progressive with a heavy brake pedal as I have test driven 2 new, one had a pedal like I described above and one had a pedal that seemed to go quite far down before anything happened,. My guess it was the pads but having not driven one for any...
  11. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Replaced my clutch today, and the 1st and 2nd gesr feel very sticky. Also if I pop it out of first to neutral it stays in the middle to the left, instead of dead center.
  12. Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi Guys, with engine running my brake pedal will be solid and then sinks a little bit before it becomes solid again. Is is a diesel. With engine off, the pedal is rock solid. Is this normal behavior for a diesel due to the vacuumpump operation? Thanks and keep it together

Vmaxx coilovers??? Thoughts. I've read some reviews and some say to bouncy and others say spot on for just normal daily use. One guy put them on his m3 and said they were great. Somebody must have used or tried them. I know they're cheap and you get what you pay for and they don't have a cool...
  14. Alfa GTA
The gearstick on my 156 GTA feels very loose, a few centimeters left-right and back-forth game, before feeling the springs. It also sounds like something is not sharp steady in there (in the control box under the gearstick), its not a loud noise, but some small cranks like you get from a worn...

about the pile of bits sat in my garage... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alfa-Romeo-1600-GT-Junior-/191648284745?hash=item2c9f20c049 Not for the feint hearted!!
  16. Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Hi everyone, Recently, if I haven't driven the car for a few days, the top travel on the clutch pedal feels slack, after driving for 10 mins or so it goes back to normal. Also if I drive the next day it feels normal too. The clutch is pretty new so it won't be that, also there are no other...

On Tuesday or Wednesday I received a call from my very excited cousin who resides in our rural Eastern Cape namely Transkei. Apparently he had just seen what seemed like a beautiful convoy of about 6 or 7 of "your Alfas" (having only owned 2 by the way) passing through the town of Butterworth...
  18. Alfa Giulietta
I know this is a bit of a silly question but after reading the gearbox threads I'm starting to wonder what a good Alfa gearbox feels like as mine is a little notchy especially when cold. I have driven many different vehicles over the years with some shocking boxes and find this one to be no...

  20. Alfa 159, Brera & Spider
I'm looking for a 3.2 Brera S Prodrive, preferably in red. Veloces seem to be pushing everything out of my budget to the wrong side of £13K, clean low mileage cars though they might be. Drove one locally which fitted the bill (mentioned on here before), but walked away due to the very high...
