  1. Fuel economy improvement

    Alfa Giulietta
Since I changed the cambelt on our G (the timing was very slightly out before I changed it) we have experienced a decent improvement in fuel economy. On a longish run we used to average 50mpg with 45mpg in normal driving. Now the car is averaging 48mpg in normal driving, and on a longer run we...
  2. Fuel economy and acceleration dependent to temperature - MAF?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
hi, I know it's Alfa's forum, but I have tried so many Fiat's forums and get not even a clue, but while digging the internet found some similar to my problem posts regarding AR so I decided to take my chance here. I have Fiat Tipo HB 2017 version running MultiJet 1.6 120hp. Since beginning it...
  3. Fuel economy

    Alfa Giulietta
Just had a 300 mile round to Caenarfon and surrounding area. Mixture of m/ways, a+b roads, throw in rush hour traffic and averaged just under 41mpg. Is this ok? 2017 Veloce 1750tbi tct
  4. Brera 2.4 Fuel Economy

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hi, I just wondered what sort of fuel economy people are getting for their 2.4jtdm breras. I've owned mine for a couple of weeks now, and I can't seem to get more than 32mpg average on my commute. I used to be able to 42mpg average doing the same journey in my 156 2.4.
  5. Fuel Economy

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Evening all, My apologies as i know this subject has been done to death but i can't seem to find a definitive answer in past threads. My 2.4 Brera pretty steadily records around 30mpg on the trip computer, although somewhat disappointing I was able to put up with this. I have however been...
  6. Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 TS fuel economy

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Yesterday I drove my Alfa 147 1.6 TS from Northampton to Cosford RAF museum and back, 77 miles one way mostly on motorways. My Alfa showed 6.2 l/100km which is 45.56 MPG. My cruising speed was 100 KPH which is 62 MPH, average speed was 78 KPH about 48.5 MPH. I used 95 RON petrol from Texaco.
  7. Sportiva (135 bhp)Fuel Economy

    Alfa MiTo
I have just purchased a 2013 Sportiva (135 bhp) 5 speed, and I am not getting anywhere near the claimed 60 mpg. If anyone has the same model, can you please post what you are getting mpg wise? I have driven in Dynamic and Natural and the car is returning around 47 mpg on a run, without any...
  8. 159 1.9 Stage 1 Remap- Power & Economy Loss

    Tuning & Upgrades
Hey fellas, I had my 159 1.9 jtdm auto remapped about a month ago- pulled out the DPF and replaced with a straight pipe, blocked off the EGR. I had a remap done for me online by a popular site and was expecting power gains and minor economy gains but both seem to have decreased- it's having...
  9. Giulietta Veloce Fuel Economy

    Alfa Giulietta
Hi all My wife has had here new Veloce about two weeks now and I am a little confused by how much fuel it uses in city traffic. Her average is around 13ltr per 100km according to the dash read out. She only drives it in 'N" mode and does not drive it at all hard, never uses sport mode. The...
  10. Economy w/o postinjection?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hello, Today I'm looking to find out one interesting thing. Alfa Romeo 159 2.4jtdm fuel economy. At the moment average consumption there is about 10 l/100km with aggressive driving style (slightly remapped + dpf reg. stopped) :) So it's not bad I tink so? But could be better. But I noticed...
  11. 159 1.9jtdm fuel economy

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
After all the work and changes I've run through nearly a full tank of supermarket diesel and tonight I worked out the average mpg. My brim to brim calculation worked out at 44. The computer shows 44.3 so it's near enough accurate. The car has done a mixture of town commutes and journeys on...
  12. gt economy

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
What is a real world MPG i can expect from my gt jtdm? The dash info shows average 28mpg and a range of 56miles from just under a 1/4 tank. Does this sound about right I do like to drive enthusiastically but not over the top on the limit all the time
  13. Diesel real world economy falls further

    General Motoring Discussion
Real world economy versus Manufacturer's claims for mpg have fallen still further behind. Data taken from thousands of fleet vehicles demonstrate that while the manufacturers continue to claim ever-higher mpg, the reality is that their cars are returning less on the road. The true economy now...
  14. Borderline Bias/ economy of truth?

    General Alfa Discussion
From AutoExpre** on buying a second hand Alfa I am confused. *adopts clarkson voice* I've been in a an "german" car. It reeks of putrid soulnesslessness. It squeaked and rattled to the point that the makers of WD40 took out an injunction: even they were afraid. *ends clarkson voice* And...
  15. Better fuel economy in D mode on motorways?!

    Alfa Giulietta
Hi Guys, I have a 2014 2.0 JTDM-2 TCT sportiva diesel, i seem to get FAR better fuel economy in Dynamic mode on the motorway, does anyone else find this? I bought the car used so im wondering if it has any kind of upgrade done to it. In N mode i get around 40mpg on a motorway run, in D mode...
  16. Alfa 147 1.9 JTDM fuel economy

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Afternoon guys, I've had a 147 1.9 JTDM since early Feb, brilliant little car. The one issue I have had though is fuel economy. We are currently averaging around 30mpg and cannot get it above 31 and using roughly £30 a week in diesel. The service history is stamped up and apparently had a...
  17. Mitsubishi Motors falsify fuel economy tests

    General Motoring Discussion
Looks like we have some more cheating liers! Mitsubishi Motors admits falsifying fuel economy tests - BBC News "Mitsubishi Motors has admitted falsifying fuel economy test data for more than 600,000 vehicles." "The inaccurate tests involved 157,000 of its own brand light passenger cars and...
  18. 156 1.8 TS fuel economy

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi all, Had my 1.8 for a while now and love it. It's quiet, refined and drives beautifully. Going from the 159 1.9 JTDM, I expected it to be less economical but the trip says 24mpg which is pretty poor for a relatively modern petrol engine. The 159 returns 40mpg no prob. It's recently been...
  19. 159 2.4 jtdm (210) fuel economy

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Hi all, I know there is plenty of discussions on this subject and I don't want to start a new topic all I want to know is whether 27mpg is normal for stop start driving with this engine. I do go on long runs but they are constantly stopping and starting. And I am going of what the computer is...
  20. fuel economy again

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Well had the first long run since changing the stat and no matter how it's driven it doesn't do more than 30 mpg. I know it a 2.0 petrol but my old car would do 40 on a run can't see why it's so bad. Full service next after that I guess it's put up or shut up. I understand now why they sell so...
