  1. Cruise control retrofit - is it really that easy?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi, I'm looking at adding cruise control to my other half's 147 1.6TS Collezione after realising how good it is on my 350z. I've had a search on the forum and it seems like all you have to do is screw the new stalk in and cut a hole for it in the plastic cover. Anyone know where I can buy just...
  2. Mopar Easy Care Service Plan Price Reduced

    Alfa Giulietta
Hi all, When I purchased my Giulietta (150 MA) earlier this year I was a bit reluctant to purchase the 3 year 27,0000 mile service plan as the price was £499, I thought it was a bit steep especially when previously I paid the £100 less for the same plan for my Renegade (1.4 MA) with the same...
  3. (Giulietta) Is it easy to change the serpentine belt?

    Alfa Giulietta
I hear some odd noises and the belt looks worn. Serpentine belts are supposed to be easy to change, but are there any gotchas for Giulietta?
  4. Headlight removal easy...????

    Alfa 164 & 166
My headlight lenses are pretty badly cacked-up inside & could definitely do with a thorough clean. Quick question is are they a real pain to get into / bumper off etc? If so I'll just leave it. Ta!
  5. Replacing fog lights on 159 TBI TI - easy job?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Noticed one has the front glass broken and the other is badly tarnished, so was thinking of replacing. Is it a relatively easy job or should I leave it to the garage (they will be having the car soon anyway for some other work)? Thanks

  7. Alfa 156 dial bulbs- easy to change?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi All, My new 156 2.5 has (presumably) dead bulbs behing the temperature gague. How easy is it to check and change the bulbs? Also how feasable is it to change the dials and binacle clocks? I much prefer the non-sport pack clocks! Cheers SD
  8. How easy is it to do an interior swap on a GTV?

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
I'm looking at GTVs for sale currently. I've seen a really nice example, but one thing is holding me back - it's the 'wrong' interior colour. I know that's really superficial, but I figure an Alfa Romeo is an emotive purchase so the normal rules don't apply. :) How easy is it to do a DIY...
  9. Easy access seat

    Alfa Giulia
Hi all, Picked up my Giulia QV on Wednesday and I'm loving it apart from the drivers seat sliding back every time I turn the car off. Sorry, I have read the forum and I know this has been asked loads before, but I'm struggling to find the answer. Please someone tell me there's a way to...
  10. How easy is it to change Anti-Roll bar Drop Links?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Evening All, I have had some good news tonight. The clunky rattling noise in my car is nothing more than a worn out drop link :D Nice and cheap! Now I have been quoted £30 + £15 for fitting and part. So £45 all in for 1 drop link replaced. The garage owner told me that I would most likely be...
  11. 1978 1.3 Super for sale - easy project

    Alfa 33, Sud & Sprint
Ok, so I've accepted that I have too many boats and am unable to give my sud the attention it deserves so it needs to go to a new and loving home. Am listing on here first as I believe folks here are more likely to value the car. It has stood for about three years since last use on road. The...

  13. solenoid changes, easy?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
Guys I have the P0014 fault code coming up telling me the timing is out of sync. I have read some useful stuff on here but can't find any hints as to how hard it is to change the exhaust or intake solenoids. Im pretty useful but unfamiliar with these engines. Any advise would be appreciated. Martin
  14. Glow plug types? Easy way to tell?

    Alfa 159, Brera & 946 Spider
So I know this has been covered a lot previously. Mostly by me. Apparently the fuse for the glow plugs is the one on the top of the battery that has a cable coming off and going down the back of the battery. I found a 60A fuse there which would be close to the 65A needed of 5 13amp plugs. Now...
  15. 147 Aircon to Climate upgrade - easy?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hi all, I have a 147 with aircon and want to upgrade to climate control. Other than the control panel in the dash, what else is required? Do you need a control unit (computer), how about motors to control the flaps? Do you need to swap the physical aircon unit? thanks as always!
  16. 147 - 2.0TS in to 1.6TS easy swap?

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
Hello all, was wondering whether a 2.0TS engine would fit easy in to a 147 with a 1.6TS engine? The 1.6TS has a cambelt snapped and that's the only reason (as I have a spare 2.0TS). thanks for your advice.... Jason.
  17. GTV headlight poor? The easy, quick way to clean the projector assembly!

    Alfa GTV & 916 Spider
Ok, we all know that the dipped beam on the GTV leaves a lot to be desired. Many owners complain that the beam pattern doesn't project far enough! So many owners sort very expensive and time consuming solution's. These include illegal 100w H3 bulbs, hid conversions and even sticking their head...
  18. Quick fix GT broken seat release cable

    Alfa 147, 156 & GT
First post so be gentle on me... My seat release cable was constantly failing, with the below, very good guide resolving the problem (the little metal hook kept coming out of its locator) a month...
  19. Easy DIY gearknob refurb

    Alfa GTA
So my gear knob was all scratched, and the leather was getting worn. The one's on are lovely but expensive, so I thought I'd have a go at making mine a bit smarter. I masked round the gearstick, and used fine emery paper to sand off the paint. The cap is actually metal so with a bit...
