Just wanted to share the following - for those who suddenly experience the following symptoms on 2010 Giulietta Cloverleaf (manual transmission):
1. Dead engine starter motor, not turning at all
2. Rest of the accessories work well (locks, lights, air-con-fan, radio, etc..)
I’ve seen it plenty of times, but damned if I can find it in a thread.
I want to put an extra lead from battery to engine, Grahameo gave advice as per in the attached photo, but the only possible lifting eye that a 30cm cable will reach to us what I’m pointing to in the other photo at the front...
Dashboard Earth Location ?
DASHBOARD EARTH C015
Being right hand drive I thought it would be right under body computer but could not locate it. Can anyone tell me where it is ?
eLearn says Nero (Black) as colour code so there must be one big black box there !
Occasionally the engine won't turn over when starting.
It seems like all power is gone. If I wait a few seconds and try again the engine turns over, starts fine and no further problems
Then the problem can be gone for weeks and then occur again.
I have checked the battery poles for bad...
My Alfa 159 SW does not glow a couple of visibly unrelated lights:
1. 3-rd brake light
2. Both of luggage compartment courtesy lights
3. Tailgate courtesy light (which is mounted on the lid)
I've checked the bulbs and fuses - all good.
I've tried to find earth on the connectors - nope, they...
I’ve been helping a friend with his Spider. It’s got a bit of a chequered past... trying to get it to run a bit better.
What engine earth straps should there be on an ‘84 Spider LHD? Where should I find them? I’ve had a look from above, but can’t see any.
Also, the timing chain is rattling...
My brother just picked up a 147 1.6 TS - which incidentally had covered 67,000 miles since its last cam belt change! FML. He had it transported to an Alfa specialist about an hour away and the mechanic noted that the belt still looked fine!
Anyway, he's had all that done and we've been...
Finally got round to doing the earth strap between the battery and body this morning. Pictures tell the story. Looks like my earth strap is fairly new and the terminal at the body end is copper.
Time will tell if it actually makes any difference!
Need advice please .
Starting with the engine harness , there are 2 connectors 1 with multiple wires joined together middle of harness and 1 black at the rear . correct me if i am wrong , the multiple wire connector is attached to the front bank head (right side if your looking at the engine)...
Hi Guys, I am trying to resolve an airbag light issue. I understand one of the key faults is bad earths. I have found the earths at the front (near the headlights, battery and gearbox). The diagram I have shows two points floating in space at the back of the engine bay on either side. I have...
I want to replace the battery earth lead and install a quick release connector. Can I use two separate leads instead of the Alfa one which connects to the body and then gearbox?
If so any ideas of the length required?
What do you do when you drop it down the back of the engine?
First time: crawl under and retrieve it
Second time: swear a lot when it doesn't fall through then wonder if they are on eper or ask nicely ... Does anyone have one going spare? Little torx screw ...
This morning the GTA threw up the 'low battery voltage warning' whilst driving. Took the car home, checked battery voltage at 12.5V with engine off. Fine. But only 12.1V with engine running.
Checked battery terminal connections and earth leads on back of plenum and side of engine block, nipped...
I have a 2007 Alfa 159 2.4.
Have had all the usual earth problems under the bonnet and cleaned all those about a year ago and again now.
But my error i am having is the relay for the headlights is not always ticking on immediately. I replaced it but no difference. And when it does...
Maybe I missed the memo where everyone else seemed to know this - but the format for entering Long/Lat co-ordinates into Garmin is different from the format displayed by Google Earth.
This is not good. It's particularly not good in that the different format does NOT mean that what you enter...
